I have been practicing Kundalini Yoga for 5 years now and feel it is the king of all yoga. This particular series however is very hard-core but seriously rewarding. I have, by my own admission, an addictive personality and found this DVD to be highly beneficial in terms of detoxification. The Kryia works on the lymph nodes in the groin and armpits and the postures are very hard working on the abdominals (scissor leg kicks) and arms (cobra with lion breath on exhale) that make you a bit achy for a day or two after, but are well worth the time and effort. The detox continues with sufi grind in an anti-clockwise direction (to clear out impurities) and an 11 minute Sat Kryia meditation. There is a choice of meditations post-relaxation that are either breath focused, or mantras. I am currently doing the set for 40 days with the healing mantra meditation. Carolyn instructs 2 students and can come over a bit bossy but seems to know her stuff. You also get to see stills of Carolyn's beautiful photography also. If you have ever had problems with addictions or addictive behaviours then I cannot recommend it enough if you are in the process of quitting or have abstained for a period of time.

Excellent!
A must have if you are at all into yoga or want to explore an empowering way to deal with personality.

I have been practicing yoga on a regular basis for years and also have had directly and indirectly issues with addictions in the past.
No matter how clean you are, leading a healthy life style; the mind can still be hooked to old patterns of dependency.

This DVD is a very honest source of inspiration while it provides practical help to move one's life forward.

Carolyn Cowan is a great kundalini yoga teacher and i know first hand as i went to a couple of her lessons in London "camden" only frustrated with myself for not going more often as she is one of the best and most informative as well as motivational teachers when it comes to battling addictions along with the complexities of the mood and the mind. Mental health and addictions is something that is quite personal to me as over the years i have had to endure many hurdles when it comes to craving, temptation and even self medicating. A few years back i got introduced to yoga and more specifically kundalini yoga and it's benefits to somebody suffering from these kind of struggles in life, After a slight bout of manic random online shopping i decided to buy several yoga dvds and this was one of them. I admire her style of teaching as she devotes herself and guides the audience on a spiritual journey all about the nature and reality's of addictions and how they link to emotions and the ripple effect these painful ailments can have on not only ourselves but all aspects of our lives as well as our relationships with others and we turn to certain vices to cope be it for confidence, balance of mood, chasing a high or most commonly escapism. I find the postures quite challenging but i know through persistence they can really have a powerful effect but be prepared to die in between if you are not very fit or flexible "joke off course" jokes aside though i would definitely recommend this dvd to anybody ranging from those wanting to get in touch with their own sense of identity and meaning in the world to somebody wanting to improve their back pain or work on their emotions and learning to let go of pain, especially ones that focus on inner anger and sadness along with fear low energy and a general attitude of negativity.and low self esteem.

I was introduced to this DVD by a friend when I was going through recovery. It helped my emotionally and spiritually and really helped me to see my problems more clearly and thus resolve them. The physical postures focus your mind and makes it all seem so much better. I believe she does classes in London and I would love to meet her and do a one-to-one class.

I love this DVD. I have been doing kundalini yoga for about 3 or 4 years now, I have DVDs from Ana Brett & Ravi Singh, and Maya Fiennes which I love but this one is special, and I am feeling great benefits from it. All in all I can't recomend this DVD highly enough, she does a part 2 as well which I will be purchasing.
