5.0 out of 5 stars A must have knife! 27 Feb 2012
I bought this knife to prepare Sushi as well as using on fruit, veg and meat.

The knife is approximately 8 inches long from handle to blade tip. The blade is 4 inches long as is the handle. The blade which is made from carbon steel has a non stick coating and is the same colour as the handle. The knife feels nice in the hand and well balanced, the blade feels like it is half tang, going halfway into the handle this makes the blade quite strong. The blade drops down where it meets the handle into a bit of a Spanish notch so your hand shouldn't slip across the blade. The cutting edge travels right to the tip making this knife ideal for precise cuts. The handle is smooth and does have a small finger and thumb grip for better control. A safety sheath is provided to store the knife in which grips the blade well so no fear of it falling off.

So Kuhn Rikon have thought of everything in the design of this cracking little knife! It is very sharp indeed and cuts with great ease. I cut some lemon slices today with it for the first time today, perfection! Lovely to use. I love this knife!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite PARING KNIFE - it has the edge! 31 May 2011
Comparing directly to my Kitchen Craft knife, it has a slightly more comfortable, square handle, PLUS......the added bonus, for me.....it is also dishwasher safe!
(However, it can be twice the price, so may not suit all budgets!)

* KUHN RIKON: Switzerland embossed
* Paring Knife - COLORI® - The Handy All-Purpose Knife
* High Carbon Japanese Stainless Steel Blade

Does exactly what it says on the pack:-

* Slices slide right off non-stick blade

and this is not an understatement - as with all knives, mind the fingers - especially getting this little gem out of the blister pack in the first instance!
I would recommend cutting along the bottom of the pack and letting it drop down.

All sizes approximate, based on my own knife:-

Measuring in c 19 cm overall length, this rigid knife has a 9 cm handle with comfortable handle of around 2 cm width, with slight indentation at the blade end.
The blade is 9 cm long, 2 cm at handle end with a coloured non-stick coating, tapering into a seriously pointed tip.

It comes complete with its own sturdy vented storage blade cover making it safe in the drawer or in the picnic basket.
Easy to find, this colourful little knife makes very light work of slicing my Granny Smiths and chopping those chunky carrots.

From the instruction card supplied:-

'Paring Knife Colori's® high carbon Japanese stainless steel blade means a super sharp edge and long-lasting performance. The non-stick coating ensures foods will release from the blade making each cut easier and neater.
Made in China.

I absolutey love these knives - they look cool, come with a handy sheath that keeps the blade clean and safe, and they're so cheap I've bought a load so I never have to wash them.

Gone are the days of making a sandwich and cursing because the knife you need to cut it with, is sitting in the dishwasher tray with hardened lasagne stuck to it from 3 nights ago. I have a draw full of these little beauties which I just dip into as and when is needed, and then plonk in the dishwasher to await cleaning.

They are awesome. The blades are crisp and sharp and stay that way - and they're coated with a non stick surface with a 20 degree edge so that when you cut, the food just slips away and doesn't stick to the blades.

The sheaths are a strong plastic and the kinives just slide in and out with ease, yet are held firmly in place by a cleverly designed mechanis, too. I have a set of Sabatier kitchen knives that I spent a fortune on and which sit on my work surface gathering dust - because now I just use my little team of Khun Rikon knives time and time again.

Knives and a very handy tool to have and you can't get a handier knife than these Khun Rikon ones - I have a selection of different blades too, some with a serated each which are great for cutting toasties in two. Mmmmmm - toasties...

Plus they're easy to find in the draw beacause of the bright colours they come in, so no more digging around searching for your favourite knife. These fun and funky kitchen kinves come highyly recommended by me.Forget global, forget Sebatier - Khun Rikon knives are where it's at! A+ or 10/10

Incredibly sharp, and the sheath is a good tight fit,so the knife should be safe in the kitchen drawer.A comfortable grip makes it easy to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Paring Knife. 19 April 2012
By Angie

I had ordered a blue paring knife because I had purchased a Kuhn breadknife. Both items arrived promptly and although I ordered a blue bread knife I received a red one. Oh well, I have put up with it. For the price both are excellent knives and I would recommend them to my friends. The knives are making me want to cook again. I found them on Amazon whose service I find remarkable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sharp knife 22 Aug 2011
By K. A. Newton TOP 500 REVIEWER

I bought this knife as one of four different colours.

What can you say -

The handle is comfortable to the small and large hand. The blade is a decent length and covered with a non-stick surface which glides through tomatoes, other salad ingredients and fruit, I have not tried it on bread or meat yet.

It is very sharp and the protective sheath fits well and is a boon in the knife drawer.

I bought different colours for different uses

Another reviewer warned other buyers to open the it's sealed packet carefully. I cut the bottom of the pack open with scissors and let the knife in its sheaf drop out by itself.

Excellent but very very sharp.
