Manufacturer's Description

Whether you are cooking soups, meat, vegetables or potatoes, or even sterilising babies bottles, everything is more relaxed with the Kuhn Rikon Duromatic pressure cooker and itis up to 3 times faster than conventional cooking methods too. Risotto in 7 minutes? Creme Caramel in 10 minutes? No problem with the Duromatic.

This 2.5 litre Kuhn Rikon Inox Pressure Frying Pan with long handle has a timeless design, is easy to use and is a practical classic.

The aluminium heat-conducting base is especially thick and ensures rapid and even heat absorption on all heat sources, including induction. Three safety release systems and stay cool plastic fittings are all included in the design for your safety in the modern busy kitchen.

The interior of the pan features 1/2 and 2/3 fill level indicators. You can brown meats in the pan before the lid is locked on, or use the pan without the lid. Easy positioning triangles allow you to close the lid with the minimum of fuss, whilst all models in the Duromatic range feature the fully-automatic locking system which prevents opening while there is still pressure in the cooker. As the food begins to boil, any air present in the pressure cooker will firstly escape through the spring-loaded pressure valve and then the valve cap will move up. The pressure indication lines become visible and you are able to cook effortlessly at low (0.4 bar) or high (0.8 bar) pressure by adjusting the heat. You can then just enjoy the peace and quiet and once your food inside is ready, the pressure can be released in three safe and easy ways.

Cooking with the Duromatic takes about 1/3 of the usual cooking time, with an energy saving of up to 70%. This saves you money and is also good for the environment. Vitamins are sealed in, instead of boiled away, vegetables keep their bright colours and flavours are so intense less seasoning is needed.

Pressure cooking can be daunting, but the Instruction Manual included with your new purchase includes an extensive table of cooking times as well as cleaning and care recommendations to get you started and enjoying the benefits of this heavyweight, stainless-steel beauty. And if you needed any more encouragement to get cooking, you can also download a Fresh Food Fast recipe booklet from www.kuhnrikon.co.uk which includes at least 20 delicious ideas, including tips on how to use your new pressure cooker to produce jams and chutneys, Christmas pudding and Curried Chicken Casserole in a fraction of the normal time.

The cookware is guaranteed for 10 years against faults, but excludes normal wear and tear. Replacement parts are available separately.

I have been studying "Indian Cooking". Madhur Jaffrey uses a pot like this one saying it's her best. Took a while to find it and it seemed to "tick all the boxes " for a piece of equipment that I would find very helpful. Don't like lots of implements in my kitchen. So buying anything so expensive was exceptional for me. And it is expensive, but worth every penny. I have been using it a lot, cuts down on energy, time and I think hold in more flavor than conventional cooking. I also like the size.
I had used pressure cookers before and indeed grew up with them. This one takes it to a new level, this generation needs to be introduced to the idea and at a better price. Great product.

I've been using this brand of pressure cooker for over 30 years and think they're the best. I have several sizes, but like these fry-pan version the best as they don't weigh so much as the tall ones. You can get quite a bit in them. I mainly use mine for vegetables as I can pressure steam them by using shallow steamer baskets to raise them above the water level with the result that my vegetables are tender but not sodden. This is particularly valuable for things like swede, parsnip, butternut squash, celeriac and cabbage that can so easily become mushy. And, of course, they cook more quickly than mere boiling. Another plus is that these pressure cookers work very well on induction hobs.

Combines the pressure cooker with a frying pan style. Really useful cooking a variety of things. Obviously doesn't have the capacity of larger pressure cookers but since buying it have rarely used my larger capacity cooker since buying the Kuhn.
It doesn't come with a trivet which is strange considering the cost but you can use a variety of things - see suggestions in "the pressure cooker cook book" or other online resources.

When I read the descriptions I was confused did this have a non-stick lining. Well it doesn't have a teflon type lining but has a base of a different material. In practice frying things before pressure cooking (such as duck) I haven't had any problems with cleaning it after. Probably due to the overall quality of the pan. Really pleased I purchased it.

This is really the best cooking pan I have ever used in 40 odd years. Best frying pan without a doubt and now an excellent saute-stew-casserole dish as well. It is beautifully designed and safe to use.

Whilst it's not particularly cheap, it will be worth every penny. A joy to use! I'm completely delighted with this product.

Wonderful, this will soon become your favourite item to use as it's so versatile you will wonder how you lived without it for so long - well maybe the price is a drawback, but seriously you will not regret your investment as it saves so much time! We lead such busy lives and in the past when I was home late I use to think "I can't cook that now as it's too late, and it won't cook in time." But now I just get my Kuhn quickly brown and seal my meat, put the lid on, and hey presto by the time I've peeled and cook my vegs everything is ready - it's so simple to use too

I have an ordinary Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker which gets a lot of use. Its only limitation is that if you want to make a thick stew it will burn onto the bottom unless you put the stew into a basin sitting on a trivet inside the cooker. This makes for more washing up, especially if you fry ingredients first in a separate frying pan.

This non-stick pressure frying pan solves the problem. You can fry in it, then add other ingredients and liquid and lock the lid down. You need to get a thick stew up to pressure on a lower heat than when you are just boiling something, but this only adds a few minutes. You still get an exceptionally speedy, tender result.

It is also excellent as a general purpose lower volume pressure cooker and you can use any sort of implement on the titanium non-stick layer. One of my absolute favourite pieces of cooking gear, and in constant use.

I love the weight of this pressure cooker and the stainless steel base but I have had a few problems with it - sometimes it hasn't reached pressure and so there is a bit of fiddling around to make sure the valve isn't blocked or the rubber seal is in the right place. The worst aspect is the design for a gas hob - all my gas rings are large so the flame required to reach pressure licks round the edge of the pan and can start burning the handles - on a taller pan this would not happen as the flame would be sufficiently away from the handles. It's a shame but I may have to give it to someone with an electric hob because when it does work, there are great results.
