Product Description
The KryptoLok is perfect for use in low to moderate risk locations. It features a tough 1/2-inch, hardened high-grade carbon alloy steel shackle that resists hand tools. This lock features a high-security disc style cylinder and has a center keyway, which defends against leverage attacks. A $1,250 Anti-Theft Protection Offer and Kryptonite's Key Safe program are included. Other features are: EZ Mount transportation bracket and anti-rattle bumpers to reduce noise during transport. This lock is part of Kryptonite's Key Safe Program. Register your key number with Kryptonite. If you lose your keys get your first set of replacement keys for free.

I was inspired to write a review of this lock because I've only had it a week and it's already stopped my bike from being nicked! There's no higher praise for a lock than that. They had managed to cut through the black coating around the shackle but that was as far as they got - they broke the front gear shifter of my bike in the process but couldn't shift old Krypto. Perfect.
So this lock is definitely secure (8/12 on their scale) and the D/U is a good length and width for going round front or back wheel plus frame. Cable is a great addition, I use it to secure a quick-release front wheel whilst the D is around back wheel and seat tube.
You could argue the lock is fairly heavy but that's only because of it's quality. All in all I'm 100% satisfied with this lock, highly recommend.

Despite a sold secure silver rating, this D-lock will not stop thieves for very long at all. After my bike got nicked, I found the remnants of my lock a few days later and it seems that bolt cutters get through the D-lock with relative ease - nice clean cut without any suggestion of the thief struggling with it much at all.
Would not use this lock again on a £500 bike (despite sold secure silver supposedly being rated for bikes up to £1,500).
On the upside, I didn't find the lock very heavy...

Quality speaks

very odd
The bracket is not best desighn and complicates fitting also wire cable is to short as for lock seems ok but over priced cheaper d locks have better brackets and less hassel... Read more

Good Middle weight lock
