Wanted this kettle to match with my coffee machine. So super pleased when I purchased it. It's very quick to boil, but very loud in the process of boiling. The one biggest downfall to this kettle is it's dangerous. 15mins after I had made a cup of tea, I accidently touched the outside. It nearly burnt my hand. Purchase with caution.

Had to replace our Siemens kettle, and thought I'd try something that offered functionality over style.

However, having just put this Krups kettle to use, it transpires there's no isolation whatsoever, so the outside of the kettle is also 100 degrees once you've boiled the water. What's worse is that the lid also gets hot, so you have to wait until it cools until you can boil the next portion of water or use an oven glove to get the lid off.

I've had many Krups appliances over the years, and they've always funtioned well, whilst being aesthetically pleasing - in an understated kind of way. This kettle certainly looks good and functions well - however it has 2 major flaws, as the other reviewers have also pointed out, the stainless steel exterior becomes red hot when the kettle has been boiled + it sounds like several jet planes are taking off in your kitchen!! How on earth did this kettle get past the quality control department of such an otherwise reliable company??
