I was sold on this book by the amazing cover. They say that you should never judge a book by it's cover but in this instance, I had the last laugh. I was amazed that this book sucked me in so quickly.

I don't usually take to period-horror tales but this was an exception. I instantly related to the main character, even though I found her to be quite annoying and 'needy'. Like another reviewer, I was thinking of Stepford Wives throughout the tale but only very loosely as this novel manages to create a twist all of it's own.

Beautifully written. This writer really captures the haunted house atmosphere.

Not a book to read alone at night!

I am going to find the time to read Still Lake soon!

I have to say that although the story seemed good, I absolutely hated the writing style. Seemed like it was partly 'normal' and then over the top, Steven King type detailed descriptions. That doesn't mean it's like Steven King novel - it's not. Felt like I was reading a book written by a youngster, not a grown up. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but this book is not for me. Not bothered with refund as I'm quite happy to support any author.

I loved this book!
I read it in 2 days, I could barely put it down!

The story is set in a spooky old house and has plenty of strange things going on, if you are a fan of creepy tales then you will no doubt enjoy this story!

This was a very good story but NOT a ghost story or haunted house type of tale at all - which was what I was lead to believe when I purchased it on Kindle. It was merely about a person being in an unfamiliar location/situation. There is sexually graphic descriptions which I did not care for much. The story was very good and I was able to read it quickly although I did not find it scary in any way.....I prefer a propery haunted house yarn or ghost story. I would still recommend it for its entertainment value although the main character was a bit pathetic to say the least........i.e knowing that to do something will bring a certain consequence but I'll do it anyway...type of pathetic....

I loved it! Loved it! Loved it. Read it in one afternoon. Just could not put my kindle down. Kept me hooked from beginning to the very end. Congratulations Sara you've written a masterpiece. My heart went out to the main character Ana and her child. I was kept on the edge of my chair praying that Ana would escape her tormentors and she did but I thought her husband Ben would come back from his business trip in time to save her. Unfortunately he was murdered by his evil dad Richard. But it was a lovely twist. Peter saved her instead. Well done. Thoroughly enjoyed it. More please..

Absolutely loved this book, it really takes you into the story. And it is probably something that could happen to someone. There is a bit of a shock in the story too which I was'nt expecting. I shall be reading a lot more from this author, superb and will have you on the edge of your seat

Far fetched grade which has you screaming at the dopey Ana to leg it. There are so many twists and turns in this book that are obvious to the reader but not the annoying main character. I had guessed the ending half way through. My advice don't bother.
