A thinking-mans Combichrist, 24 Sep 2008
Krankhaus, the debut album from Angelspit, is not for the faint of heart. Powerful electronic beats accompany the fantastic duet vocals of Amelia and Karl, which blend together is such perfect harmony you wonder why other bands aren't trying it so readily. Amelia in particular gives a fantastic performance on all songs, and goes a long way to breaking the stereotype that 'girls can't growl'. Yes they can, and as this album readily proves, they do it superbly!
The songs themselves seem built for the dance-floor, full of memorable beats and catchy tunes, yet the lyrics have a complexity and brilliance not found in your average dance track. Eloquent verses bridge the dancefloor-chorus's wonderfully, and give each song a unique theme, ranging from drugs, revenge, devil worship to cannibalism!
A killer debut album, and a must-have for fans of industrial dance and EBM.

Nasty and sexy, 29 Aug 2008
Electro punk from Australia. Blistering beats, technical yet accessible programming, heaps of aggression and an entertaining delivery. The vocals are shouted/chanted at you in an engaging and somewhat threatening fashion, yet there is dark pop sensibility in their songs. Perfectly suited to industrial/electro dancefloors everywhere but intelligent enough for home/car listening too. This rocks.

'Vex sealed with spit', 28 Jul 2009
Angelspit are an industrial band from Austrailia. This is their debut album (not counting EP 'Nurse Grenade and what a debut it is.
1. A La Mode, A La Mort - Pretty average to be honest. Not bad to listen to but nothing memorable. 6/10
2. Vena Cava - begins with an ear shattering synth unlike anything I ever heard before. Builds up with a stomping beat before exploding into hateful lyrics spat out by ZooG (the male half of this duo) backed up wonderfully by Destroyx (the female member). Try not to tap your foot or sing 'the doctor is in...!' I don't think you'll be able to resist. 9/10
3. Elixir - Harsh and thumping but then what song of Angelspit's isn't? Destroyx's screams of pain are perfect in this song. 7/10
4. 100% - a good single and catchy, with grabbing lyrics (that are very easy to memorize). Instrumentation isn't as clever as the rest, but you'll be too much paying attention to Destroyx's perfectly venom laced voice to notice. A line in this song sums up the whole album: 'I want you to f*** off as hard as you can' 7/10
5. Juicy - a very sexual song without being totally different from the rest of the album. Great and almost creepy, but it time to grow. 7/10
6. Flesh Stiched Onto A Frame - Kind of an interlude which seems to be nothing more than some tambourine shaking and perhaps a sitar or other strings being plucked. Not very interesting and a little odd. (thus it has no rating from me)
7. Make You Sin - A highlight. Sick synth riffs and easily the most danceable song on here. Wouldn't go out of place at a party. Fantastic. 'Krank it up!' 9/10
8. Get Even - Angry angry angry. A song about affairs with a twist. Great vocal teamwork from the two. Perhaps 30 seconds too long, but not a major problem. 9/10
9. Dead Letter - I don't think much of this one. It's quite mediocre and unlike the rest of the songs which are thumping and interesting, this one is just lacklustre. Dissapointing. 5/10
10. Black Wine - Very intersting instrumental. Depending on your mood this can be too long and repetetive but it's a still a good listen. 7/10
11. Scars and Stripes - Very slow song and a nice contrast and addition to this album. On it's own it may be a little boring. Best listened to only with the whole album. 6/10
12. Create Desire - Good sing-along chorus but otherwise a little bland. The lyrics are very true. 6/10
13. Wolf - A song so instantly grabbing, chilling, rousing, and generally genius it became one of my top 100 songs within three listens. If there is one Angelspit song you need to hear, it is this one. Put it on and prepare to be blown away. 10/10
14. Wreak Havoc - Once again, this song will instantly grab you and not let go. One to go mad to and let your anger out. Empowering and a fantastic end. 10/10
Overall a fantastic, individual album. Highly, highly recommeneded.
