I'm photographing the Romani community in Serbia at the moment so was delighted when this new reprint of the images from the 1960s was recently published. Gritty, grainy images speak of their time - both photographically and historically - but also convey the universal through the particular. It is the images that show relationships - families, a group of musicians, father and son (rather than the portraits) that I think are relly powerful and enduring. a collection anyone serious about documentary photography should look at.
