Product Description

Product Description

The pocket-sized CA-40 features a refined design with a stand on the back that lets you place the tuner on any surface. The CA-40’s display has been enlarged for even better visibility. In addition to providing both the accuracy of an LCD and the easy viewing of a needle-style meter, red and green LEDs are also provided to indicate pitch deviations, making tuning smooth and easy. In addition to letting you tune visually using the meter, the CA-40 provides a Sound Out function that plays a reference tone through the internal speaker, letting you tune by ear. You can adjust the reference tone in semitone steps over a range of C4 through C5 (one octave) to accommodate a variety of instruments. Since the reference tone you specify is remembered, it’s easy to sound it again whenever you need to.

This is an excellent chromatic tuner. I use it for my 3 harps and its range is really good with only the top G and A not always being picked up. The green light indicator which shows when the strings are precisely in tune is most helpful with sharp or flat deviations being indicated by red lights to the appropriate sides and the magnitude by the deflection of the meter needle. Good value for an accurate instrument which performs up to expectation.

Good price for a neat little instrument. I use it to tune my Cornets which is easy to do because of the clear dial. Set the frequency, blow your horn and centralize the needle. That's all! I recommend.

Although the reviews for this tuner were not excellent it was the price we wanted to pay so thought we would take a chance. Just learning to play the guitar (very basic) and this has made such a difference - had tried tuning 'on line' but once we got this realised how out of tune the guitar was - now sounds much more like the lesson on dvd we were trying to follow - definately a good buy and excellent value for money - also very easy to use for anyone not musical (tone deaf!)like us.
Highly recommended.

This was my first tuner- I normally tune by ear- and I was pleased with the simplicity of the design. It works quickly and accurately, clearly indicating small differences in pitch. I now have confidence that all of my instruments are tuned together and have had no problems when switching. I like the simple clean design and have found battery lif to be very good - I haven't needed to change the battery since the tuner arrived six months ago.

This tuner is fine when you are practicing in a well lit room but is useless on a darkened stage, because it doesn't light up and therefore you can't see the screen when you most need it.

I bought this for my daughter who has bought an elderly piano which needs tuning. I've always kept my own piano in tune using an electronic tuner which 20 years ago must have been one of the first ones produced.

This one is much better! It responds very quickly but, most importantly, covers a bigger range of frequencies and works well over 4-5 octaves. A friend showed me his smartphone app (free!) but it doesn't respond as well and doesn't have the range that this does.

I needed a tuner for amplified double bass, bass guitar and Yamaha Silent Bass. This easy-to-use product, which is reasonably priced, has no real faults. It can be used live (unplugged) or using a line input from the instrument. The screen tells you which note is closest, and the level of accuracy sharp or flat. You then keep checking your adjustment until the green light tells you you're there. You can also change the A frequency from 440 if required. The only drawback is that it was quite easy in my case to accidentally switch it on in the instrument case, running down the battery. Otherwise, excellent.

This is an excellent tuner and very good value. I use it for tuning my violin. It is quick, easy to read and the needle is very steady and seems to have some damping software so that it does not move about too quickly. I heartily recommend this product.
