The Samsonite Pop-up Bubble Travel Cot has been freshly re-designed for 2009 and only weights 2kg but can be used until your child is 18 months old. It comes in natural cotton and is extremely quick and simple to assemble and pack down. The mesh sides and top panels provide light and ventilation whilst giving protection from insects etc. Either side panel can be unzipped and folded away for access and a padded mat is included for comfort. The Samsonite Microlite Pop-up Bubble provides a safe and comfortable environment for a child on holiday and is supplied with carry bag and mattress. Suitable from 6 -18 months. Perfect for holidays abroad as it can be easily packed into a Suitcase.

Pros:
- It pops up and is really easy to assemble and put away.
- It's really small and lightweight compared to other travel cots so good for travelling light.
Cons:
- You do need the additional mattress with it as the padded base for it is just not soft enough to use as a bed for a baby.
- Our 10 month old baby rolls around a lot before and during sleep and we found that she rolled off the inflatable mattress as the cot is not sturdy enough to cope with this and the sides gave way so she ended up on the floor trapped between the mattress and the side of the cot. Eventually we took the mattress out and put a folded up duvet under the cot which meant she slept much better. Not an ideal solution given what you pay for the cot and mattress but it worked. Also, she kept lifting her head and leaning against the side of the cot which gave way and caused her to bang her head on the wall it was next to so we had to put a sofa cushion against the wall.
All in all... pros and cons balance each other out and we managed to find solutions to the problems we had with the cot... we are happy with this cot but just wanted to make people aware that the sides will not stand up to much rolling around by older babies and so if you are using the mattress you may end up with the same problem we had.

This travel cot is very light, easy to put up and has a great carry bag which makes it simple to keep stored together and find in the back of a packed car! Works as a generally pod for your baby to nap in or for quiet time/play. Only downside is that for sleeping I feel it needs the optional inflatable mattress which cost me approx an additional £20.

Knowing that I am somewhat incapable of travelling light, I didn't want a cot that added another 7kg or so to my luggage. This cot is a pop-up cot (you just need to push 4 rods into the seams, very easily) and the entire thing, in it's bag, weighs just 2.17kg.
It's a nifty little thing, and takes up far less space than the traditional travel cot. Insect nets are in-built and the cot is basically a little insect-proof bubble, thanks to the zipped "door" on the front. However it is at ground level, so you may want to keep that in mind if you have back problems.
The mattress is included but is in my opinion too thin. There is an inflatable mattress you can buy separately but it is expensive and adds weight and I have not read a single good review, so I opted out. What we did was fold a blanket underneath the mattress for extra padding and my daughter happily slept in it for over a week when we were away.
