This photo studio is perfectly suitable to be used at home in the office or to take with you on the go in it's handy carrying bag. In just a few seconds the studio is ready for shooting with two 50 watt mains powered halogen lights providing ample illumination. The light level can be adjusted by placing the standard closer to or further away from the studio as required. Each light also includes a built-in pop-out stand for super fast set up. The product itself does exactly what it says, and despite reviews critcising the lamps I have no issues with them and mine arrived with three pin uk plugs as opposed to two pin and adapters.
The lamps do get hot so you need to turn them off between shots or compositions, and I wouldn't use the included tripod for a decent sized DSLR - it's more suited to a compact or maybe bridge camera.
Other than that - good product and I'm pleased.

Disclaimer: This review has been written regarding the set that I bought today 03 September 2011. It is possible that sets bought and used by others may differ to mine.

The concept is great. The packaging is great. The contents are very very poorly engineered using cheap materials:-
1 The tri-pod can not hold a Nikon camera plus its lens, as the ball socket on the tri-pod can not take the weight and the camera just falls forward.
2 The lights are not bright enough and get very hot. Why not use the available high intensity GU10 LEDs?
3 The feet on the lighting units are supposed to retract easily into their columns. This can only be achieved by unscrewing the base of the lighting units. A tedious procedure.
4 The different coloured interior backdrops are a nice idea, but why are they narrower than the studio box?

I bought this a few months ago and have used it quite a bit.
For the price you get a lot of items. The studio itself is worth the price, and even though the lights and tripod aren't amazing (lights are just torch style with spotlight bulbs and tripod isn't that strong) its worth the price.
Ive given it 4 stars as the lights that I received had American plugs on them with UK adapters, and a bulb blew after about 15mins, but this didn't bother me as the studio works even better with flash guns, and the tripod wasn't quite strong enough to hold my camera and lens, but I shoot hand held anyway.
The studio is very portable... folds really flat and is simple to put up, and it comes with 4 background colours (black, white, red and blue) that velcro into place. The lights and tripod fit inside pockets on the front without problems.
Overall, good product that does its job well, with cheap but useful extras.

You need to change the plugs!
Arrived but had to put 3-pin plugs on it to replace the 2-pin plugs fitted. No problem but it adds a fiver or so to the purchase cost and I can't see anywhere on the product... Read more

Un usable
