4.0 out of 5 stars Tiny but loose, 24 April 2004
This review is from: Bluetrek G2 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
This superb, simple-to-use bluetooth headset has impressed me a great dealalthough there are a few notable flaws in its design.
Far smaller thanthe alternatives I tried it is also a breeze to set up and integratedseemlessly with my Sony Ericsson T610 mobile. I simply switched them bothon and told my phone to search for bluetooth devices and within minutes Iwas chatting away. The same applied to use with a Belkin Bluetooth USBadapter and Toshiba laptop which with instant messenging has provided mewith the added thrill of a sort of Videophone.
There are only 3 buttons- an on/off/dial/talk/end-call button which is large and easily accessiblebut a little stiff on the side of the device and two volume buttons whichcan be a little difficult to find whilst on the move before one gets usedto the device. After a few weeks, however, these niggles become far lessof an issue. In addition there is neat light indicating on/off/needscharging by different colours at a press of a button.
The overallappearance is stylish and modern but is let down by the ear hook/bandwhich I found to be a little loose, with the device falling out onoccasion when turning my head quickly. I imagine it is difficult for amanufacturer to allow for all different headshapes and sizes, although Iwould consider myself about average in this respect. Despite thislooseness, causing the earpiece to be away from my ear canal, the volumeand clarity are such that it is easy to maintain a conversation withoutraising one's voice even whilst driving (a problem with some of thecompetition) and, to be honest, the activity required to make the deviceactually fall off needs to be somewhat vigorous.
The handsfree functionwith voicedialling is also reliable (as long as you can remember how yousaid your mate's name when you recorded it in the first place!) andextremely useful when driving. As a doctor on-call it has changed my lifeallowing me to be mobile and available every minute of the day!
Whenchoosing this product the main influencing factor for me was the price, with the staff in the store telling me they had all bought one because itwas by far the best value. Certainly one could pay twice as much for aheadset with similar specifications and little discernable improvement inoverall performance.
To summarise, despite a few design flaws, which become far less of anirritation with practice, this product did its job very well. Reliable, stylish and relatively cheap it did all the important things required ofit and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

This review is from: Bluetrek G2 Bluetooth Headset (Electronics)
After a geat deal of research into bluetooth head sets via the internet I opted for the Kondor Bluetrek G2. It's speck is second to none, the standby time is up to 400 hours which is over 2 weeks, the talk time is 8 hours. It is also very light @12grams, comes with a mains & a car charger, a belt case and links seamlessly with my Sony/Ericsson T630 even with the voice dialling feature. The original unit I purchased did not hold it's charge for more than 24-36 hours but upon exchanging it with another unit I am now getting the full specified standby time. It looks very slick & is also one of the cheapest! nuff said.

This item has lived up to its expectations. It is indeed very light, crystal clear and at a bargain price to give you everything you need using the bluetooth technology of today. A must for all those requiring a handsfree function on and off the road.
