I bought the game expecting a fast paced, action filled dog-fighter but what I got was a missile based shoot-em-up. The games graphics are great, with replays that look like movie scenes and in game graphics that give real height and speed ratios. The game has a huge choice of aircraft (real and imagined), but this is where Deadly Skies crashes and burns. The action can get repetitive with the mid-section missions which lack in variation and are easy to complete with missiles. But get past those and on to the main missions and then it starts to get challenging. But there are too few of those. But there is still quite a bit to unlock and some of the planes look cool in the replays!! Only buy with spare cash or if this is a "maybe later" choice, and later has come.

Deadly skies 15 Aug 2002

deadly skies is a good game but all the graphics seem to be focused on the jet your have chosen for your mission. The levels are good but there are small misions that you cannot avoid, this gets increasingly annoying as when you get to hard levels and use all your missiles you have to go through about 2 more missions to get back to base when you have no more health left and a couple of missiles.usally this wouldnt bother me because i would crash my plane and start at my bace again with full health and critical missions competed, but on this game you have to buy your jets so if you crash it you have to buy it again. But if you want a game that will take you longer than most xbox games...

This is a game for you

Top gun 7 Mar 2004
By Daniel
This game is amazing and even though some people say the graphics are weak, they are good compared to most xbox games. Thegame is hard to complete as you have to buy your planes and re buy them if you crash but the gameplay is so realistic. The replays are like scenes from top gun but without the MIG. This is a must for air combat fans
