Product Description
Dancing Stage Disney Mix gets you out on the floor as one of your favourite Disney characters dancing to a Disney soundtrack that'll make you move. Choose to groove as Mickey, Donald, Goofy and more. All you have to do is press the directional buttons on your controller or on the dance floor pad that correspond to the onscreen arrows. Sound easy? Just wait until the beat picks up and the commands get complicated. It's a fun, high-energy work-out built on dynamic choreography, up-tempo music, and non-violent gameplay, and it features a variety of gameplay modes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disney Mix is Supercalifragelisticexpialidocious!, 9 Jan 2004
Dancing Stage Disney Mix is the least well-known in the dancing stage series, but not rightly so!

As well as cool remixes of Chim Chim Cher-ee, Zip a dee doo dah and more, there are cool classics like Mr Bassman and arcade favourites like B4U and Higher.
The songs "Let's Groove" and "Surfin USA" seem to be missing, (they are on the back cover.) i dont know why.

If I was to rate the ps2 and ps1 Dancing Stage Games, I would place it at joint first place with Party Edition.

1 - DS Disney Mix (fun mix of songs) 20 songs.
1 - DS Party Edition (loads of great songs!) 51 songs
2 - DS Fever (ps2 version) - Fun licensed tracks. 29 songs.
3 - DS MegaMix - several arcade favourites. 28 songs
4 - DS EuroMix - Several good songs, but no Captain Jack! 24 songs.
5 - DS Fever (Ps1 version) 16 songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars The full lowdown on Dancing Stage Disney Mix!, 24 Aug 2002
By Gary Clark "Dance music fan!" (Irvine, Scotland, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Newsflash for all lovers of "Dancing Stage EuroMIX" for the Playstation - EuroMIX is NOT the best dancing game available for the PSone or PS2, if you want a more enjoyable dance experience then look no further than "Dancing Stage Disney Mix"!!!

I admit, when I first heard about this game, I wasn't at all keen to get my hands on a copy - because Disney is in the title you tend to get the impression that it's only for kids - but this couldn't be further from the truth...

First of all, although there are only 20 songs compared to EuroMIX's 24, every song actually has a great melody which is more than can be said for some of the "efforts" on EuroMIX (step forward please "Afronova" and "Dead End"). Here is a list of all 20 songs included on Disney Mix (because I would've loved to have known this before I purchased...):

Mickey Mouse March (Eurobeat Version), It's A Small World, Macho Duck, Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, Mickey Mouse March (Summertime Extended Version), Chim Chim Cher-ee, D.D.D! -Happy 65th Anniversary for Donald Duck-, It's A Small World (Ducking Hardcore MIX), Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Mr. Bassman, Are You Ready Do The Bus Stop, Night Of Fire, Fire, Let's Twist Again, B4U, Higher, Let The Beat Hit Em!, Midnite Blaze, My Summer Love, Share My Love

There are three game modes - Main Game consists of a number of stages (1-5, which you can alter on the options menu), you can choose from all 20 songs on stage 1, but after that you cannot choose to perform the same song for subsequent stages (great if there are people who "chicken out" and want to do the same song on all stages!!!) - Free Selection is just one stage with a choice of all 20 songs, good if you just want to practice because it is impossible to fail in this mode - but the jewel in this game's crown has to be the brilliant Dance Magic mode.

Played with 2 players (or 1 player vs. the computer), the Dance Magic mode is a kind of dancing battle. Each player selects a Disney DJ with their own unique DJ magic powers. When the song begins, the aim is to obtain long strings of combos to fill up the gauge in the centre of the screen. Once full, a magic card is automatically sent to the other player's side, handicapping him in some way (by making the arrows invisible, adding complicated step sequences, speeding up or slowing down the rate at which the arrows travel up the screen) - the winner is the player with the largest percentage of the dance gauge on the top of the screen by the end of the song. This mode really has to be seen to be fully appreciated, but believe me you won't be disappointed.

Sadly, Disney Mix lacks a non-stop mode such as the one found in EuroMIX, but the amazing Dance Magic mode will have you killing yourself with laughter watching your mates trying to cope with the often impossible magic moves!!! This game is a surefire winner and a complete bargain - BUY IT NOW!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than EuroMix!, 25 Jan 2002
By A Customer
If you are stuck, and are thinking about buying either Dancing Stage EuroMix or Dancing Stage Disney Mix, believe me, choose Disney! The songs on this are alot more dancier, and are songs people have heard of (for example the remixes of Zipee De Doodah and Its A Small World), and even the songs that you wouldn't have heard of before (for example Higher, the fantastic Night Of Fire and My Summer Love) are sooooo catchy that you'll know all the words after a few gos!

The only disadvantage to this game is that Disney is more expensive than EuroMix, but because of the quality, Disney is definetly worth shelling out the extra money for!
