Play as the gorgeous gunsword-wielding treasure hunter Ayumi as she carves a path of destruction through a mysterious and dangerous island. While rich with bounty, the island is also caught in the throes of Chaos magic. Ayumi soon discovers that it is also the home of thousands of long-held secrets, including special powers and abilities that she can gain for herself. Using everything she can, she must find a way to defeat armies of menacing villains and a multitude of treacherous traps in order to break free of the possessed island’s grasp. Although tastes vary I would strongly advise against anyone buying this game. It is truely one of the worst games I have played on the PS3.
If the girl on the front cover looks familiar just take a look the box for Tomb Raider Underworld and you will see why. The antagonist is a hot sword wielding treasure hunter who is nothing but a Lara Croft wannabe.
That is not to say that the gameplay resembles Tomb Raider at all, its no where near that good. Instead the nearest comparison might be Heavenly Sword, only the movement and animation is no where near as good as that game either.
The graphics are appalling for a PS3 game and you struggle to make out any detail among the grainy washed out backgrounds and weird fantasy designs they have used. The character you play, Ayumi, runs about with two massive oversized swords attached to her and in combat she runs, jumps and fights at high speed with little feeling of contact with the environment or the unremarkable monsters you encounter. Its arcade style might have been acceptable about twenty years ago but now it just looks cheap and lazy, with screen flickers and other low quality graphics bugs throughout.
Ayumi herself is voiced by an actor who is again supposed to sound a bit like Lara Croft, only with a cute lisp. And, despite the fact that she cannot act she goes on and on giving an extremely irritating narration of what is happening as if to make up for lack of actual visual effects.
Save yourself some money and avoid this one. Its actually painful how bad it is.
