Lightweight and very quiet in use the Sebo K1 Komfort really impressed me when I first tried it out. Expensive but worth it (£150-00 five years ago) for the extra three floor heads you get; Parquet brush head, a full size air driven turbo brush and a standard 2 way universal floorhead, the K1 Komfort isn't the basic model in the K range and although it has a 3 litre dust bag I was really taken with the actual longevity of one bag. For a small flat which has various carpeting and hard flooring the K1 Komfort is hard to beat because of the various large cleaning floorheads. The turbo brush is very fast and able to get around corners and gives my rugs a very good appearance whilst picking up pet hair is simply no problem. The Parquet brush is one of my favourites however as it collects dirt efficiently and easily on my hard floors with soft rubber wheels not to mention the wheels on the Komfort itself which are rubber coated to minimise damage.

Against previous cheap vacuums I've had that promise large capacity bags I was surprised to find that one bag could last up to four months despite it being 3 litres by statistic. A bright orange LED light shines continually to let you know there is a blockage or if the bag is full and no longer having to peer down at a small mechanical bag full window, the K1 Komfort is obvious from its design that it has full of user friendly thoughts to make it one of the fastest vacuums on the market as per its use; it is very easy to twirl it around in a 360° circle making it ideal for compact spaces.

The three wheels are all castors too and are slightly off the ground making this vacuum very easy to travel across different floors. This is also helped by the fact that it has a strange but novel fast auto cord rewind that you don't need to balance your foot on. With 6 metres of cord I find it useful to get around without changing plugs, and when all cleaning is done and finished, I simply pull the plug out of the socket and pull the cord to activate the auto cord rewind mechanism. The cord whips out of the way from my ankles and legs making storing very easy, also helped along by its' very compact design of hooking the pipe on the back of the main back door.

This is why it doesn't look curvy or has any metal to adjust its practical look; instead it has a most practical design with full size cleaning tools such as a long noise free crevice tool, a flat upholstery tool and an optional cost dusting brush - of which one comes as standard on the K1 Komfort. Whilst this clips onto the main pipe, the overall impression of the K1 is that it is extremely well designed, quiet in use, has variable suction and lots of it courtesy of a very strong 1800 watt motor and a long crush proof hose coupled with a very easy lightweight two part plastic covered metal tube that adjusts for height.

The hose and tubing is lighter than Miele's tubing and aids above the floor cleaning tasks too. Then there's an actual handle just like an upright vacuum at the top! Aside from its deep fill bags, the bags themselves are four level layered making them high filtration as standard not to mention the hospital grade filters (2) of them, which are the largest in size I've ever seen. There are even options to upgrade your K1 model if you suffer from asthma. And they do their job well keeping back pet hair odour, which was one of the worst aspects I found in my previous Hoover vacuums despite claims of HEPA where general dust over time still gave off a dank and musty smell. Another great point is that they are both very easy to install and only fit in one way.

Installing and disposing the bag is very easy to do as well and the bags all come with individual seals that seal up the bag making disposing of very healthy with no dust escaping.

Another fact of the Komfort is that it has a slightly longer hose to the basic K1 and for me that means less effort to pull this lightweight machine around. The downsides are that it uses a bag but I'm past the stage of mucking out bagless cyclonic bins and having to continually get in contact with dirty filters. Whilst it is true that you have to spend a bit to replace the filters, their longevity and purpose are economical on the fact that they out last almost 4 boxes of the 7 bags per box you can buy! Over a Miele which I nearly considered the Sebo K1 Komfort model is more compact, stable and very reliable. I have no intentions of replacing it; it remains to be a very efficient vacuum cleaner and for buyers quite cost efficient with great performance and a noise level you don't have to cover your ears to! Although the model pictured here has 1800 watts, Sebo have now updated their 2009 model year K1 Komfort with a 2100-watt motor.
