This is one of the better series. I remember as a kid watching this on Saturday night TV and looked forward to it. This series is better produced, directed, character profiles and acted than the previous series. Also, the picture quality is slightly improved.
Telly Savalas and the support cast are superb and the scripts and locations reinforce their ethos as police officers. If you like New York cop movies then this series is one of the best you can get. Real-life, depressing and humane all rolled into each episode.
If you are a fan of Kojak then this series is a must for your collection.

At last season four, well this season`s picture Quailty is way better then 2&3 almost like season 1, infact very good, there may have been some remastering but I`m not sure, theres no info on this just that allfall statment at the beginning, the storys are also very good, I did not see all the episodes when it was out in the 70s but I think some of these shows seam very badly eddited? but I could be wrong, its the way some scenes end very abruptly then stright in to what seems to be half way thou the next but I`m sure, theres bound to be some one out there smarter then myself who would known this not all episodes just some or may be thats how it was done back then, this season is well worth getting if your a KOJAK fan. very girty viewing. Some orsome cinematography of the twin towers and how New York has grown over the last 40 years amazing.I still, like every one else can not understand why the owners of this show (Universal) did not fully remaster them from the beginning? >cheep scapes< and yet some of a lot older shows get the full treatment? go figure.
Telly Savalas had some great lines in these show like, "Ok joyey whats it goner be the gutter root or did your head finerly grow a brain" and "You can keep his socks if you like as long as you leave me his cute little personality" there are jems like this althouout this FANTASTIC SHOW, go get them all NOW.
