..still good for kids to own ;-) Okay, I use pencils a lot and decided to give these a go, I did not like the texture of the graphite as much as that found in the equivalent Derwent pencil Derwent Graphic 9B to H Sketching Pencils Ref 34215 [Pack 12] but they were still nice to use. I always sharpen with a craft knife and the wood was nice to cut and the pencils formed a nice strong point. I'd rate the pencil higher but find the Derwent a nicer pencil to use and having compared them side by side know which one I'll continue to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars These pencils are great 22 April 2010

They are perfect they don't break when sharpening. I brought these off a moving discount art seller who goes to schools and colleges. They are highly durable and perfect for all kinds of drawing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible. 21 Mar 2013
By Abi
I bought a box of these as a cheaper alternative to Derwent. And I hate them.

They are very gritty - a good pencil should glide across the page. These feel very rough and scratchy. Sometimes they don't even leave a mark on the paper, other times they scratch the surface and damage the paper.
They're very hard, a 2B in these pencils is nowhere near as soft as a 2B in Derwents.

They would be okay to buy for a child. Or to use for very rough work, but for a professional artist I would suggest they go for a much better quality brand.

I for one will be sticking with Derwent in future.
