Manufacturer's Description

Description

The KODAK EASYSHARE P750 Digital Frame is incredibly easy to use thanks to the simple remote control and easy 3 steps to add new photos. Slideshows run seamlessly with exclusive transitions and effects, while KODAK Color Science technology makes your best images look even better whatever your choice of viewing mode. Even better, the KODAK P750 is ENERGY STAR qualified and includes both a programmable timer and activity sensor to ensure ultra low power consumption.

Easy to use

The easy-to-use remote, and smart search menus make it easy to quickly find your favorite pictures amongst the up to 16,000 pictures (actual storage capacity may vary based on picture content) that can be stored on the P750’s 2 GB of internal memory. The three buttons on the IR remote (OK with 4-way navigation arrows, back, and mode) are clearly labeled and are also available on the back of the frame. An invisible magnet holds the remote to the back of the frame for convenient out–of-the–way storage when not in use.

Using the smart search menu you can view “All” thumbnails in your picture collection, or sort by “Date”, “Folders”, “Keywords”, “People” or “Favorites” to easily and efficiently locate pictures in seconds. Picture Finder is another powerful search tool that can be initiated from either slideshow or collage mode. See a picture on the display and want to see more pictures taken that same day? Press pause then Picture Finder. Your picture collection will be searched for all pictures taken on that day, and those pictures will play when the slideshow is resumed.

A choice of viewing options

Collage: Picture Book

Intelligent zoom and pan uses face detection during slideshows to keep people in view with a dynamic zoom and pan motion that brings people to center stage; and panoramic pictures are detected and swept across the screen so you can enjoy the rich details of the entire scene. With the press of a button you can choose your preferred viewing mode: single picture, date, calendar, or collage. Dynamic collage view shows multiple pictures randomly on the display at the same time so memories are always fresh. When you select Collage: Picture Book viewing mode, you can choose a background color or pattern from a variety of layouts and backgrounds--including clean modern lines and scrapbook pages-that will be displayed behind your pictures.

3 Easy steps to add new pictures

Adding new pictures to your KODAK P750 Digital Frame is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Insert your memory card into the card slot on the frame
  2. Choose one picture, one folder, or all the pictures on your card using the remote to select your choice from the screen options.
  3. Click the OK button on the remote to copy pictures to the frame.

Your slideshow will resume as pictures are transferred so you won’t miss a picture, and pictures are automatically resized when transferred so more pictures can be stored on the 2GB of internal memory without losing viewing quality. Transferring pictures to the frame is so convenient, that you can easily create a one-of-a-kind, personalized gift by adding pictures to the frame before you wrap it—now that’s a gift only you can give.

Even better picture quality

Your pictures will look amazing on the 7 in. (17.8 cm) high-quality digital display (800 x 600 pixels) thanks to the unique KODAK imaging technology in every P750 frame. KODAK Color Science technology instantly evaluates each individual photo when it is displayed on the P750 screen and applies a range of improvements. Colours will be sharper and more vibrant and dark shadow areas in each of your pictures will be cleared up to reveal better details and brighter pictures. “Smart” effects are then automatically applied with the P750 checking for red-eye in your pictures and removing it. A great quality screen together with KODAK’s unique imaging technology ensures you can enjoy your pictures at their very best on a KODAK P750 Digital Frame.

Ultra low power consumption

KODAK P750 digital frames are ENERGY STAR qualified with an energy-saving activity sensor that turns the frame on when you’re nearby (detects light --artificial and daylight--and sound), and conserves power by turning it off when you’re not (the room is dark and quiet). You can also choose specific power on and off times with the manual programmable timer if that better suites your lifestyle. The frame’s 7 in. (17.8 cm) display is mercury-free which makes it even more environmentally friendly.

Lovely Hi-res frame 27 Nov 2010
By Mk1 Max
I bought this from a normal electronics store (one of the big chains) as it was the same price and meant I could have it same day, as well as getting to see it in person beforehand. I was originally going to buy an older model (the P725) but this has just come out so thought I'd look into it first. I'm glad I did.

Firstly, the picture quality. I'd seen some other frames which had lower resolution than this, and wasn't hugely impressed with them. This frame is pin-sharp, with details really showing. The pixels per inch really helps the photos look great. On top of that, one of the reasons I went for the Kodak rather than one of the other lesser known brands (as I was very tempted to do for the price saving) was the hope that the colours would be pretty close to real life. The truth is, they're very good. Very vibrant and pretty accurate. I turned off the Kodak picture enhancer thing; it works very very well for landscape type photos, but most of my photos are of my friends and family and it doesn't work so well for skin tones (in some instances it gave a halo of yellow around the face, and coloured the face in such a way my friend looked very ill!!). With the picture enhancer feature turned off, I still think the photos look fantastic. Just check this if your colours look a little weird as it's turned on by default. It also has automatic red-eye reduction which seems to work pretty well!

I originally wanted a larger frame, but I think that for my desk, this is just right. Plus larger frame at the same resolution as I looked at as well - well that probably wouldn't have been as sharp. The remote control is good (though it feels a little cheap, but I can forgive Kodak as it does feel like all the money was spent on the frame which is where I'd rather it was spent!). It has a wonderful feature of having a magnetic centre, as well as a corresponding spot behind the frame. So when you're not using it, you can attach it easily to the rear of the frame so it doesn't get lost. Simple little detail but a very good one! The response of the frame to the remote is slow, but you don't have to use it much, so I can forgive it for this.

Memory is great. As well as loads of compatibility, it has 2GB of on-board memory. You can plug it straight into your computer and copy the images over. It's so easy to do - brilliant!

The automatic switch on & shut off is good. The automatic turn off is pretty good, though you can't adjust the delay. Sadly it doesn't seem to recognise when I turn off the light in my room, so stays on quite a while after the light is turned off. I can live with this though. The Automatic on is cool - walking into the room and the frame automatically switches on. It has a sound and light sensor. It didn't work at first; I found a longer manual online which said it takes 24 hours to adjust to the surroundings before it works properly - they didn't mention this in the quickstart guide, so it's good to know!
However, the sensors don't seem sensitive enough. I can sometimes walk in and sit down in front of it and it doesn't turn off. Likewise when I'm working next to it, it turns off - though that could be my fault of just sitting still in front of the computer too long!
The frame can also turn on and off at times you set, but I haven't bothered with this - I'm happy with the automatic setting.

It can display time & date in front of photos, and does this well. The fade between photos is good, though the fade effect doesn't have enough frames, so it kinda jumps from one frame to another. Not a huge problem though. There is a light-up Kodak logo on the front, but it only lights up when the unit is turned on and off. Nice! Also, the unit is quite customisable - you can change photo display time and changing effects, etc. I just wish you could change the time of photo display yourself (so I could change it to 15, or 20 seconds) rather than the pre-defined times which have large differences between them.

Overall - I'm very very happy with this unit. I can more than forgive its shortcomings, simply because I'm very happy with the quality of the display which is primarily what I bought it for. And at this price, I reckon it really does beat the competition (including those made by the same manufacturer)!

Nice work Kodak!

This was bought as a Christmas present for us at Christmas 2010. By June 2011 it would no longer boot and now is just lights up, but no operating system appears. No troubleshooting tips from the manual help and the website was of no use either.

Sadly, because it was a gift bought from a retail shop there is no chance of returning it and Kodak's customer service don't seem interested without a receipt either.

Considering how basic the device is, for it to just spontaneously stop working (it had zero abuse and very little use) is about as poor as electronics get.

I bought this for my Uncle's 60th birthday, so it had to be easy to use and have a great screen for showing off the pictures he's always asking us for. The Kodak P750 has a great screen, no doubt about that, but the interface is a bit slow. I found that it was a pain to navigate the the set-up screens in the time I spent with it. Maybe if there were less animation between screens and more of an instant response it would have seemed less clunky, but as it was I grew frustrated with it.

There are some nice touches about it, though - the activity sensor works a treat and the magnetic attachment for the remote control is an excellent way of keeping it safe.

It's a quality digital frame at a decent price, for sure, and a solid four stars. Could have been five if the interface was more responsive.

*Update*

As others have experienced, it suddenly stopped working after about six months. I returned it to Kodak who replaced it under warranty, but the obviously refurbished model they sent back did not have the plastic stand attached to it, so it's a bit useless now. Wish I'd paid more attention to the negative reviews before I bought my Uncle what has become an expensive white elephant.

I've downgraded this to two stars now - build quality this poor should not cost as much as it did.
