Best-in-class click-to-capture speed and fast auto focus* Capture that challenging action shot with fast, click-to-capture speed and auto focus. With an incredible click to capture speed of <0.1 secs, the MAX is the perfect companion for any fast moving action. The camera also features a High-speed burst mode: allowing you to capture up to 60 fps @ 2 MP (max 20).
Don't be afraid of the dark KODAK EASYSHARE MAX is the first KODAK Camera that uses a new back side illuminated (BSI) CMOS technology sensor delivering stunning low-light picture quality with less noise and less blur — no flash needed.
With previous technology the entire sensor infrastructure sat in front of the sensor, meaning light had to pass through all of this to reach the photodiode reducing the sensor’s sensitivity.

In a BSI CMOS sensor, the arrangement is basically turned upside down so that the infrastructure is behind the light sensitive part, so the light travels directly through the lens to the photosensitive layer. This gives the photodiode a "Front Row Seat" so light sensitivity is significantly boosted.
Extreme 30x Zoom The Easyshare Max features a 30x zoom with a focal length from 28-840mm (35mm equivalent), enabling you to capture dramatic shots. Superior SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON optics further help to zoom in faster and closer than ever to deliver crisp, steady shots for extraordinary creative performance.
Camera shake can certainly become more of a problem with longer focal lengths, but the Easyshare Max is packed with tech to produce shake-free results. Optical Image stabilisation automatically minimises camera shake to deliver crisp pictures, while Intelligent image processing — reduces any noise, to deliver crisp details and true-to-life colours.

All PASM modes also provide access to a full list of manual controls—including RAW file format -- that allow you to express your full photographic creativity.
A RAW file is not compressed and offers greater dynamic range and contains more colour information (available in PASM, Sport, Portrait and SCN modes). You can use the RAW File Develop feature in the edit menu to develop, edit (picture size, quality, exposure compensation, colour mode, sharpness, and white balance), and save RAW files as Fine, Standard, or Basic JPEG files. You can also edit RAW files in KODAK EASYSHARE Software.
Access a suite of features that automatically select the best camera settings for pictures in unique environments. A description of each Scene mode appears when you move the cursor over a SCN icon. Available SCN modes include: landscape, flower, sunset, backlight, candle light, children, bright, fireworks, self-portrait, night portrait, light landscape, stage, high ISO, and panorama R-L and L-R. Sport and portrait modes are accessible directly on the mode dial.
Useful in high-contrast scenes. The camera takes and merges 3 pictures to produce one of high dynamic range, accommodating light levels from bright sunlight to faint starlight.
To capture a broader portion of the dynamic range of the scene one image is over exposed plus 2 Stops - brighter than normal to get good shadow detail, and another image is under exposed minus 2 stops - darker than normal--to get the highlight detail. The result, a new image with increased dynamic range.

The MAX camera allows you to choose how much photographic control you’d to have on a picture by picture basis. When you’d like to save time and concentrate on composing the picture to capture that perfect moment without worrying about adjusting camera settings select Smart Capture on the mode dial and MAX will do the rest to insure you get the best result.
Unfortunately, selecting the auto mode on some cameras means you may be disappointed with the result. We’ve all taken pictures of scenes that looked great through the human eye but not so good on the camera. A typical example would be a picture of a subject with a bright background. In these backlit situations the background looks good, but the subject—the most important part of the picture-- is often too dark. KODAK's Smart Capture feature allows you to become a better photographer in just about any environment by automatically applying three split-second processes to improve your pictures without you having to adjust any settings:

If you’ve ever scrolled through hundreds of pictures on your camera looking for those of one special person, Kodak’s Face Recognition feature is just what you need. It’s powerful and easy to use. (You can also search by Date and Keywords.)
Using the on-camera keyboard, enter the name of any face detected during picture taking—up to 5 different people in a single picture. The next time a picture of a tagged person is taken; the camera will automatically recognize their face and assign the right name to it. A maximum of 20 different people can be added to the on-camera face registry, and up to five different poses of each person are used to increase the accuracy of their facial recognition. Once a person is recognized by facial recognition, its super quick and easy to search by name to find all the pictures of that person. You can also tag pictures on your camera with keywords like “summer holiday” for easy search and retrieval, or search by the date that’s automatically tagged to your picture when it’s captured.
Select video mode through the dedicated video button and start recording in Full HD 1080p --composing your footage either on the large, high resolution LCD or the though-the-lens (TTL) high-resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF) and using optical zoom if you wish. You can edit video on-camera too -- trim clips to focus on the best bits, make a still picture from your video, or even create a 9-up Action Print. Want to share your video online – then simply use the Share Button and select your destinations.
