Back from my holiday and I can say this camera is brilliant ! Underwater pictures are clear, videos are clear and the sound is fantastic - you can hear all the underwater bubbly noises! I came back with over 500 pictures from my holiday and all of them have turned out well.

only a few cons - The strap is a bit short. you can't safely tie it around your wrist while in the water, I had to tie a knot onto my fingers incase I dropped it.
Also the screen is not so clear in the bright light, a lot of picture taking in the pool with the bright abroad sunshine was guess work! But I guess that will be the same with any camera??
For low light landscapey type pictures it's not the best, but close up (portraits etc) night time is fine and all the pictures came out colourful and clear.

I shouldn't really highlight the CONS as much as they are the minority compared to the PROS. This camera is so much fun, please don't hesitate - I had sooo much fun with this little thing, and captured so many memories in and out of the water.

I wont be selling this camera on eBay that's for sure! :-)

I purchased two of these cameras to take on holiday purely for underwater use. Constantly turned on with freshly charged duracells the cameras still showed full battery power after after a 3 hour swim in the sea. Under normal use the batteries should last days. My wife and I used the cameras 2 hours everyday for two weeks. We have taken hundreds of photos and are really pleased with the results. Once we finished swimming we rinsed the cameras off with fresh water. Other guests and staff were amazed by the quality of the pictures. They were even more surprised when I told them how much they cost. As another review stated the speed at which the photos are taken is very impressive, great for catching the moment. The kodaks have proven to be totally reliable and robust. Even out of the water, in daylight the pictures were very good. As cheap underwater point and shoot cameras I cannot fault them. I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase :-)

I bought the Kodak Easyshare Sport C123 a couple of days before going to the Maldives for a week. I would describe myself as a a keen amateur photographer and usually use high-end Canon equipment. I knew the majority of the holiday would be spent on the beach or snorkelling and I wanted a camera I wouldn't have to worry about.

The batteries that the camera came with lasted a day and a half and I then swapped to rechargeable Energizer 2500mAH (2 AAs) which lasted a couple of days on a full charge. Because I was relying on this camera I tested the waterproof aspect before leaving - I followed the instructions, closing the first battery apartment door first followed by the outer sealed door, ensuring it was locked in place (there is a small sliding switch to lock it on the bottom of the camera) - there were no leaks at all. The camera comes with a wrist strap and batteries, that's it. Don't bother buying a case for it, it doesn't need it.

I carried the camera with me throughout the holiday, it is small enough to comfortably fit in a pocket or to swim with in a hand. Sand and water were no obstacle for it and the quality of the photos are amazing for such a cheap camera. Underwater photos are great and the video function works as you would expect. Colours are vibrant (although the light in the Maldives probably helps somewhat) and the face tracking/focusing appears to have worked as expected with faces in focus. Make sure you select the underwater setting if you are taking photos underwater otherwise they will likely come out with a strong green tinge. The digital zoom actually does an ok job, the 12mp starting resolution helps here.

This camera is not perfect but for a relatively inexpensive underwater camera it is pretty darn good!
We used it all day at a water park, using video down the flumes and it came up trumps every time, we were so pleased with the results. The photos underwater are excellent as well and the flexibility knowing it is a decent camera above water as well is worth the money alone.
I'm not going to replace my Canon DSLR with this, of course not, but when I go snorkelling I'm also not going to risk putting my Canon in one of those airtight bags, aside from the cost I will be continually worried. I don't have to with this one.
The biggest criticisms is the battery life, personally I haven't found this yet, we have used it twice including a whole day at the water park and have used it for both pictures and videos and I'm still on the kodak batteries it came supplied with

There is one small thing you should know, when we played back the videos on a bigger screen, there is a slight bleeding to them which makes it look like a 70's early video camera capture. Now we have looked online and cant see that you can change the settings for video so it might just be when it is above water and the sun is bright. I'm not taking any stars off for this though because the results were actually quite pleasing but it may not be for everyone's taste.

I've included a small video clip to show the quality you can get, and as its underwater you may not notice the retro effect I have just mentioned
