Capacitive Touch Screen

Your pictures and videos will look great on the large, bright, 3” (7.6 cm) HVGA high resolution capacitive LCD touch screen display featuring 2X more resolution than standard displays. KODAK Colour Science technology is built-in for brighter more vibrant details. This intuitive touch screen makes it easier on the eyes to take, review and share your pictures and videos right on the TOUCH camera. Intuitive tap, swipe and drag/scroll touch actions make navigation a breeze and greatly reduces the number of camera buttons for a classy sleek camera body. You can even use the Touch Shutter in the upper left corner of the LCD to take pictures instead of the shutter button on the body. Once you touch the Review button, viewing, deleting, and searching your picture/video collections can all be done on the touch screen. Tap or swipe to search through your collection either one at a time or fast; tap and drag to adjust video volume; tap to crop a picture then drag the crop box to the desired size; tap and drag to trim videos, and even tap to apply photo effects.

The first time you connect the TOUCH camera to your computer, KODAK’s Share Button app (a small software program) will automatically launch and prompt you to add login information for your online sharing sites and email address. After that one-time setup, pictures will automatically be uploaded to the sharing destinations you’ve chosen just as soon as you connect your camera to your computer.

Better pictures automatically with Kodak Smart Capture

When taking pictures, wouldn’t you like to save time and concentrate on composing the picture to capture that perfect moment without worrying about adjusting camera settings? Unfortunately, with “normal” auto modes, this sometimes means you will be disappointed with the result. We’ve all taken pictures of scenes that looked great through the human eye but not so good on the camera. A typical example would be a picture of a subject with a bright background. In these backlit situations the background looks good, but the subject—the most important part of the picture-- is often too dark. KODAK's Smart Capture feature allows you to become a better photographer in just about any environment by automatically applying three split-second processes to improve your pictures without you having to adjust any settings:

1. Intelligent scene detection detects and analyzes the characteristics of scene
2. Intelligent capture control then automatically sets camera settings including exposure, focus and ISO for clear, sharp pictures even in low light and challenging situations
3. Intelligent image processing enhances the final result in the processing stage by reducing noise and clearing up dark shadows for vibrant, crisp details and true-to-life colors.

Face Detection

The Touch uses Face Detection when you take a photo to ensure faces are in sharp focus and correctly exposed —so you get better pictures.

Face Recognition

If you’ve ever scrolled through hundreds of pictures on your camera looking for those of one special person, Kodak’s Face Recognition feature is just what you need. It’s powerful and easier than even on TOUCH where a single swipe of the touch screen lets you quickly find exactly who you’re looking for. (You can also search by Date and Keywords.)

When Touch detects a face, you can add a name to that face by touch-typing with the on-camera keyboard and Touch will automatically tag future pictures of that person with their name for a quick and easy search. Up to 5 different people can be detected in a single picture. A maximum of 20 different people can be added to the on-camera face registry by tapping and typing, and up to five different poses of each person are used to increase the accuracy of their facial recognition. Once a person is recognized by facial recognition, its super quick and easy to search by name to find all the pictures of that person. You can also tag pictures on your camera with keywords like “summer holiday” for easy search and retrieval, or search by the date that’s automatically tagged to your picture when it’s captured.

Switch seamlessly to 720p HD video

You can change the TOUCH from a still camera to a camcorder with the touch of a button. No need to go into a menu or turn a dial, simply press the Record button on the top of the camera to start recording, press it again to stop, and press the shutter button half-way to return to picture-taking mode.

You can review and edit video right on-camera using the bright touch screen display. To trim a video, tap the Trim icon in the Edit menu and drag the Start trim mark and the End trim mark to focus in on the best bit. You can also tap to make a still picture from your video, or even create a 9-up Action Print. Want to share your video online – then simply use the Share Button and pick your destinations.
