What a lovely conclusion to the Knuffle Bunny series. As usual he writes with that dry humour and has wonderful insight into what appeals to young children (and their parents). Just one word of warning!! If you are a sensitive soul then read it by yourself before reading it to your children. It took me 3 times before I was able to read it through without wanting to cry! I have bought the Knuffle Bunny books for my son, given them as gifts and have them in my class library too. They are a firm favourite!!!
this is a well-loved, excellent series. Great writing, humour and illustrations.
I would just be cautious about a younger child, who's anxious about giving up their favourite toy or cuddly. If they're a fan, then buy it, and keep it until they're a bit older (and re-read it as much as the others), but be prepared that they may not like the book initially.
This book was a wonderful surprise. With bright vibrant illustrations of people instead of photos, the pictures just pop out of the page. The style is different and wonderful. Mo Willems has written this book as the third and final Knuffle Bunny book. It was the first that we had encountered. As a family we are very glad that we did. This is the story of Trixi's trip to Holland to visit Oma and Opa, but she forgets her Knuffle Bunny on the airplane. But maybe she will grow up a little though this experience. The story is wonderful and the illustrations are amazing.
