Meet
Arnie--An Egg on the Run, a comical, interactive cartoon character, who gets up to antics in the kitchen, and who will remind you of Humpty Dumpty, the accident-prone egg who came to an untimely end when he fell off a wall.
This CD-ROM has been created to give children aged 47 years "a learning adventure full of surprises". Arnie the Egg wakes up to find himself in a fridge and he quickly realises that he could come to a sad end in a frying pan on his way to somebody's breakfast plate. Obviously, he has to escape and here the fun begins. He gets into all sorts of scrapes and needs a friend to affect his rescue, often in the shape of Coco, the fridge-magnet clown. Help Arnie to escape from the toaster, assist him in replacing displaced objects and find things to help him get out of his predicaments. All these situations have been designed to help your child develop their memory, observation, logic skills and independence.
There are 22 learning activities, and there is a choice of difficulty levels (1-3) that must be chosen before starting the game (but this can be changed at any time during the game). Coco is on hand before the game starts to identify all the hazards that Arnie could encounter in the kitchen. Accompanying the package is a simple pamphlet giving installation instructions and a brief outline of the game. Installation needs overseeing to make sure QuickTime is installed, but is otherwise straightforward. This is an egg-cellent learning package that your children will find hard to beat. --Susan Naylor
