Following a road accident where I temporarily lost use of my left arm, I bought a 'knork' to make it easier to eat and because I didn't want others to cut my food up for me.
It was delivered quickly and well packaged, with simple instructions. It has a nicer heavy quality feel to it, and is well made and balanced.
I've used it every day for about 6 weeks on all sorts of foods - meat, pasta, fish, vegetables.
The genius is found in it's simplicity. Once you get the hang of cutting by using a rocking motion along the forks edge, it becomes second nature. The neck of the knork is flat and thick, and this allows greater and more comfortable downward pressure to be applied without hurting your fingers. The shovel part is broad and allows food to be scooped up, or pierced using the points.
It works really well on all but the toughest of chops, where more pressure is required to cut through.
My overall impression is one of pleasure - it was a great decision to buy it, I like using it, I don't rely on others to cut my food, and I've retained dinner table independence.
I'd recommend it to anyone who has lost ability to use a conventional knife and fork, or who simply prefers to use a fork to eat.
