Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

To preserve the condition of the Lithium battery, when the Boomer isn't used for an extended period, the batteries should rest at 50% charge. To achieve this, simply charge the Boomer to 100%, hold down the button for 5 seconds. This will turn the light on and automatically shut the Boomer off when the battery reaches 50% charge.

Worth the money 15 July 2011
Colour Name:Black
This light (and its twin front light) is fantastic - blindingly bright if you look directly at it and yet it fits in the palm of your hand. The diminutive size coupled with the simple wrap-around method of attaching the light to the bike mean it takes seconds to put the light on or take it off and it can be popped into a coat pocket. USB charging is a great idea.

I like the lights (have both), but the removal from the silicon housing can be something I'd rather have different and I find it really annoying that I have to push the button five times through the lighting modes to turn both off. It can't be that with a decent bit of kit like this we remain at such a basic idea when it comes to the feature used the most... I.e. on and off.

Pros
Bright
Useful for going to work because you can charge them there
Charge holds well, at least when used on blink
Slick idea and concept

Cons
Rear has fussy fitting of band due to hook used
Won't fit larger posts/bars without stressing the pull round silicon band
Really aNnoying lack of straight off/on option.
Significant price

Would I by them again, I would have to think seriously about it. Nt sure whether the price to value box is tickable on these. Maybe time will tell. Especially if the silicon cases hold up to the weather and constant use. I have my doubts at this stage, but don't wish to be too harsh about them.

Bright, multiple settings 17 May 2011
By Hilary M. Stinnett - Published on Amazon.com

Like its matching front headlight, the rear knog boomer is plenty bright. VERY visible, even at high noon in broad summer daylight (now that's saying something!). There are multiple flash settings, which is nice. Couldn't really figure out how to fit it on my bicycle, so I've been keeping it attached to the seat post- could be a problem if you have a rear bike bag attached there (I use a messenger bag). Only takes a few hours to charge up bright, flashes once during shut down when the battery is low to let you know. Love the USB rechargeable- worked for 10 hours straight out of the box (on constant light, since its been dark and rainy the past week or so). Good little light, makes me feel safe riding even on a rainy evening. As always, completely water proof. Sensitive enough to turn on and off even through gloves, but again, wouldn't recommend throwing it in your bag with other things since it might flick on. No problems with maintaining its mode, even on rough patches, if inserted correctly into the silicone wrapping.
Primary use: Daily 8 mile commute to & from work on paved trail and roads, road bike.

WANTED TO LIKE IT 14 May 2012
By TJ - Published on Amazon.com
Bought one of these from Amazon after liking my front light. Have not had any problems with the front. However, I've gone through 2 of the rear lights... After awhile it would not turn on after a full charge, it will just flash once and not stay flashing when I press the power button. Bummer. The replacement worked for awhile too until it had the same malfunction, making it unusable. Knog's customer service was not helpful and said to return it again.

Overall: GREAT CONCEPT in lights, love the USB, love the silicone body.
What I dont' like: Hard to turn off, there is like 4 modes and when I get to my destination, the last thing I want to do is cycle through all the modes until it gets to the off position, which takes like 10 seconds to get there. Anoying. I also dont' like that they seem to have a faulty circuit on two of the rear lights I bought!

Too many modes, otherwise good. 21 Dec 2011
By whambam - Published on Amazon.com
Pros
- Good physical design. Fits seat post well, and looks good.
- Bright, for a safety light.

Cons
- Too many modes.
- Button is hard to find with gloves on.

Make it have only flashing, steady, and off modes. Make the button easier to find with gloves. Don't try to remember my last mode, since I want different modes at different times.
