Product Description

Review

In "Knitting Motifs for Babies and Kids: A Source Book of 50 Charted Designs", professional knitwear and textile designer Lucinda Guy draws upon her more than twenty years of experience and expertise to compose a 112-page, profusely illustrated instructional compendium showcasing fifty knitting projects and techniques that cover everything from using and combining colors, to yarn choices and sizing when creating customized knitting projects for babies and children. Offering a wealth of motif designs for illustrating every thing from socks and mittens to hats and scarves, "Knitting Motifs For Babies And Kids" is thoroughly 'user friendly' and enhanced throughout with little 'design ideas' suggestions. A cornucopia of needlecraft ideas, "Knitting Motifs For Babies And Kids" is an especially recommended and useful addition to personal and community library needlecraft instructional reference collections. --Midwest Book Review --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Lucinda Guy is an artist who knits! This is a fantastic book, filled with the most amazing assortment of fun and colourful designs to decorate your kids knits - or anything that's knitted.
I love all Lucinda's books and couldn't wait for this one. It was well worth the wait!
There's lot's of really useful information on how to do intarsia, finishing and embroidery, with great great ideas for what to knit.
Another modern classic from Lucinda Guy. Highly recommended!!

I was disappointed in this book as although it does have over 50 motifs the majority are small and I was hoping for a least a couple of medium to large designs. Think butterflies and flowers mainly with a few vehicles.

Lots of lovely patterns but boys certainly win out in the tractor/car/lorry/digger stakes. I've struggled to find a good selection for girls.

Cute Motifs! 19 Nov. 2010
By Joyce Owens - Published on Amazon.com

Lucinda Guy has put together a book with lots of cute motifs and good instructions for embellishing children's knitwear. I would say there is nice traditional feel about these motifs and they will be a fun way to add a little something special to a simple garment to enhance it. I would say many of the motifs would look better on smaller guage knitting.

I also love the high quality book with wonderful illustrations and pictures.

Great Intarsia patterns for kids' sweaters. Very Sweet! 18 Jan. 2012
By R. OSBORN1 - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased this book as used. It was received on time, and in the condition stated. I wanted designs I could work into existing sweater patterns for grandchildren. It fits the bill perfectly! Many cool designs for girls and boys as well as some folk art ones too. I am glad to have found the book and would recommend it to a fellow knitter.

Great resource 12 Jun. 2012
By Gma Orso - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
The charts are great. I Love the organization of the book -- it makes finding motifs easy. Each chart is shown knit up and there are ideas for borders as well as a wonderful whale and an entiren litter of cats. There are many hard to find motifs such as trucks, robots and space ships. As a new grandmother I am very happy to add this book to my collection.
Intarsia knitting patterns 3 April 2014

This book has some delightful knitting patterns for knitters who like to include characters on their projects for children. However, the photos of the patterns aren't very clear or appealing to me.
