I have previously had one of these types of calendars, and that was very American in style.
This knitting calendar has lots of items which I would like to make, and they are not all in American knitting terms and yarns.
I think that I shall use it less as a calendar and more of a reference pack, so a good buy.

This item was better than i expected would recommed to everybody who loves knitting with oddments and larger projects. Even worth buying if you do not want a calender.
I hope they do another one next year.

Disappointing 5 Dec 2010
By karena - Published on Amazon.com
I have purchased previous versions of this calendar. This year's is very disappointing. There are only 3 pages per week: M-T, W-Th, F-Sa-Su, and many patterns are divided over mulitple days. I should have read the cover that said that there are only 100+ patterns.

Flimsy box, three pages per week 8 Jan 2011

I have the 2007 and 2009 calendars from this company so I was looking forward to this one. I received it today and was immediately struck by several external differences.

The box is pathetic. Previous years had a sturdy cardboard box with magnetic closure and a hinged lid to create a stand. This year it's a cardstock box (much thinner), no magnetic closure, and I am instructed to pull a tab on the inside of the lid, fold it round and tuck it into the back of the box to make a stand. It looks MUCH less sturdy. So I decided to reuse the box from 2009.

That's when I discovered that the 2011 pages are physically smaller than the 2009 and 2007 ones - they will rattle around in the 2009 stand, and the 2009 pages can't be stored in the 2011 box.

I wrote to the publisher, Andrews McMeel Publishing, to express my dissatisfaction. Then I came here to write this review and saw someone else's review that said there isn't even a single page per date! Sure enough, the first page is Jan 1 and 2, the next Jan 3 and 4, the third Jan 5 and 6, and the fourth covers the weekend of Fri the 7th to Sun the 9th. Doubly pathetic. What's the use of a day to day calendar with more than one date on the page?

The only saving grace is that the patterns themselves do look interesting to me. The first week of patterns has a throw blanket, a stash basket, and a scarf - all things I am likely to try making. In comparison, the first TWO weeks of 2009 had a soap sack, "guitar-man" socks, sushi, a handbag, "plastic cup cozies" and a baby bib - none of them things that I would make, and several of the patterns spanned multiple days.

Projects are good but many span 2 or more days. There seem to be a good variety of projects.

Too many days on one page 23 Jan 2011
By Unicornr - Published on Amazon.com
I would have thought that Monday through Friday would have had their own page, but it's shared days. On the weekend you can have THREE days on a page.

Not well thought out, I wouldn't purchase this one again, and would not recommend in the future JUST FOR THE ABOVE REASONS. I understand the need to save costs, BUT AT WHAT COST? Who ever thought this concept up, should look for another position.

I take the calendar apart and file the different projects in a file box. Each section is labled such as: Baby items, scarfs, etc.
