Review

'Possibly the most comprehensive manual of handknitting techniques ever published... just about everything there is to know about practical handknitting' Vogue Knitting

Product Description

Over 650 practical two-colour drawings illustrate the clear step-by-step instructions, which cover everything from casting on right through to adding the finishing touches, while many specially commissioned detailed and informative colour photographs have been added to this edition. There is a section devoted to beginners; a guide to choosing the best technique for a particular purpose; and practical advice on what to do when things go wrong. The book is thoroughly cross-referenced, helping to make it the most comprehensive volume on knitting techniques ever published. It's already a proven success and is now available for a new generation of handknitters.

4.0 out of 5 stars overall a very good book, 22 Feb 2002
By A Customer
When I bought this book I was a complete beginner at knitting, I was starting from scratch. I found it to be extremely useful in learning how to knit, but now that I am improving and my knowledge is expanding I still find it very useful! It is overall a great book for both beginners and experts alike! I gave it 4 stars, I would have gladly given it 5 if it had real colour pictures of stitch patterns which to a beginner are a big help in knowing what the end product is supposed to look like!
I certainly do not regret buying this book and I reccomend it to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent primer for all levels of knitting., 23 Dec 1998
By A Customer
I have been knitting for over 35 years and believe that this is the best primer for knitters which I have read in the English language. The picture instructions are excellent. It is also an excellent reference for advanced knitters. The section on finishing has taught me many clean and professional techniques.

4.0 out of 5 stars A useful resource, 10 Dec 2003
By Ms M Mawer (Norwich, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
When I get stuck with a pattern, or something I want to work out for myself, this book helps me find my way through the knots. The diagrams are good and the text is pretty comprehensive, though it sometime takes a bit of digging to get to the bit I actually need.
