About the Author
Claire Crompton has worked in the knitting industry for almost 20 years. After a Knitwear Design degree she became a pattern designer for major yarn manufacturers such as Sirdar and DMC. This is the third book in The Knitter's Bible project series, following Knitted Bags and Knitted Accessories. Claire lives in Gunnislake, Cornwall.

I love this book, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, you don't have to go out and buy specific expensive yarns, and alternatives are given, with photographs to show different colours etc. A book that a beginner could use, but also great for experienced knitters - there are ideas in here that I haven't come across anywhere before. So far I've made the Springtime cushion (and yes, it is easy to pick up as you go along) and am working on the On the Fringes throw, which is easy but more fun to knit than anything I've ever done before!

With 20 patterns plus in this book, you get a lovely selection of patterns to follow and ideas to build upon. There are a mixture of throws, afghans, cushion covers, pillow covers, seat cover and even a wall panel to knit if you so desire.
Before you get to the patterns Claire Crompton offers guidance in getting ready to knit and throughout the book she suggests using other types of wool, rather than just using the wool she uses to create her designs. There are plenty of stitches and techniques to try and there is something for all levels of knitters.
The illustrations and photographs are excellent throughout and I feel you do get an interesting mix of designs which you could alter and play about with yourself.
