These tights are no thicker than normal tights. And, as for thermal qualities, I'd say they are no warmer than normal tights. Looking at the fabric content--the tights are 75 percent cotton, 20 percent poly, and 5 percent elastane. Compare that too M&S thermal tights: 52% cotton, 40% polyamide, 6% wool and 2% elastane. I know what I'll be buying next time!

I bought a set for my 10 year old daughter - and picked the 11-12 year old size. And they are too short. Which is odd, because she can still fit into the 9-10 tights bought from Tesco.
So I'm disappointed. Yes they seem to be warm tights. I don't know if they are thermal, but they are the kind of thick tights you would want to wear in winter - but only if they are long enough.

I purchased these for my 11 year old daughter, who is by no means the largest girl in her class. I ordered size 11-12, the tights were way too small and then I was stuck paying the postage! They did arrive very quickly, I would have been fine if they refunded me the postage, as these were clearly not going to fit any 11 year old child and I had paid several Euros to ship to Ireland. For some reason there always seems to be a shortage of school tights in Ireland.
