My wife knits, I love sport. Is this the perfect gift for both of us? Possibly.
Hilarious knitted versions of some of my favourite ever athletes. Mark Spitz is the best but where is Valery Borzov? Almost lost a star for that omission but my wife has promised to adapt one of the patterns to knit him.
Nutty knitting craziness, with some very funny pics. The Fosbury Flop is brilliant.

Not only does this lovely wee book have step by step instructions how to knit the athletes (inc medals and podium) you can also knit your very own Olympic rings an torch, perfect for your personal opening ceremony! And if all the patterns in the book are not enough for you, you get a link to download a free pattern! Definitely worth a full 5 star rating and a gold medal.
It is also worth having a look at Carol Meldrum's other books as there are some real gems and dozens of knitting, crochet and sewing projects to keep everyone occupied.

This is a super little book. It includes patterns for medals, Olympic rings, a torch and you can even knit your own ticket!! There are basic patterns for a male and female doll, to which you can add a leotard, trainers, vest, and shorts, to make sports stars such as Seb Coe, Steve Ovett and Usain Bolt. Highly recommended and great value.

Not the best patterns
As cute as the idea is, I wasn't impressed with the finished doll. They looked quite cheap. I have seen other books with similar projects and the quality looks better. Read more

Bought this for my mum , she has knitted all of the olympians and they are fantastic I am hoping to do a display at the preschool for the children.
