Knit Pro are famous for their Symfonie Interchangeable needle sets made of layered, dyed birchwood. They are strong and beautiful to use. The system works by simply fastening the cable to the needle tip and tightening with the cable key (full instructions included). Perfect for secure, comfortable knitting without the added length and bulk of standard knitting needles. The Deluxe Interchangable Set provides 8 different sizes of wooden needle tips, four different lengths of our extremely pliable cord, and eight end caps to hold your stitches while changing the tips or moving onto another project. The kit comes complete with a zipped case to hold all the needle tips and accessories, and a separate case to hold the cords neatly inside the main case. These needles are really comfortable and easy to use. Once you've got the hang of tightening them so they don't untwist in use, they do the job. The different cable lengths are useful, and the needles are tough, have good sharp points, and are very smooth, even over the join with the cable. I like the multi-colours too.Highly recommended.

I would like to first say that before these I have only been using regular aluminum circular needles (for over 10 years of on and off knitting). I had enough sizes and the only reason I searched for something else was that I wanted more flexable cable, and with that, a detachable one, so I don't have to have millions sets. I was so glad I found those recommended on a knitting forum and plunged to buy, although at the time I thought price is really steep. When I started using them on a half way knit jumper, the first thought that came to mind was "How could I have been torturing myself for so many years with ordinary needles?". I felt I was in knitters' heaven and I can confirm that because of the flexible cable and the amazing smoothness of the needles, my knitting is now done much faster, as I don't have to be pushing and pulling loops and fiddling with a hard cable.
I have read that some people have problems with the needles slowly coming off the cable, but for me - once attached, I never had to tighten them on during knitting.
I don't know if it matters, but for info, I knit the continental method.
I would recommend these to anyone. Needles are very light and smooth and I love the fun colours of the wood, cable very flexible (great for knitting in the round with magic loop).
I have read that some people have problems with the needles slowly coming off the cable, but for me - once attached, I never had to tighten them on during knitting.
I don't know if it matters, but for info, I knit the continental method.

I love these needles so much. They stay cool even after hours of knitting; other wood and bamboo needles tend to retain the heat of hand, and after a while, it gets harder to move the yarn over them. These have the comfort of wood and the coolness of metal. Also, the points are fantastic - the sharp points make wonderful for accuracy.
It's fantastic to have multiple cable lengths, and even better is to finally have cables that don't twist and bend during a project. They're flexible, without being unwieldy. Also, the caps available for the cables allow me to keep a project on a cable while freeing the needles for other things.
I've read other reviews complaining that the needles tend to separate from the cables too easily, but I've not had this problem at all. The key to lock it is simple to use and secures them very well.
The colours on the wood are beautiful, too. I love the way they look. Another reviewer mentioned that it makes it hard to see the yarn on the needle, and I can see how that would be a problem, but even with my fairly poor eyesight, it's not given me any trouble, and I've used several differently coloured and weighted yarns.
This set is absolutely gorgeous both in appearance and functionality. I can't recommend them highly enough. I would love to convert my entire knitting collection to the Symfonie style!
