A knight battling evil is one of the classic fantasy concepts, in this short story Dalton takes us into one of these tales, but gives it his own unique twist.
We meet a knight and his squire as they journey and are taken along as they encounter a wrong and aim to set things right. I don't want to go into too much detail as it is far more fun to experience the tale yoursel.
Dalton's characters are fantastic as always, well fleshed out with elements that raises them above cliche types into interesting people that you want to know more about them. The knight and squire are interesting as they are a natural balance for each other (my own opinion), one often bringing something the other lacks.
I always enjoy stepping into Dalton's worlds, Knight of Ages is a quick-paced read which finishes in a satisfying way - but if you are like me, you will hope he returns to this world soon and give us a glimpse of another adventure.
