Im not sure why everyone wants to put this new series down so quickly? The 80's show is incredibly iconic and has a massive cult fanbase but lets remember how very tacky it was, the bad acting, over the top theatrics and corny jokes that were involved. This new series isn't much different but thats what makes it so great, you can switch off and you don't have to pay a massive amount of attention to this, it's just a nice american action show with some good visual effects and a slice of nostalgia.
The show follows the original Michael Knights son and his team as they apprehend criminals and get in scrapes. KITT is now a Mustang GT500KR and he transforms (which actually looks quite impressive!)he is also voiced by Val Kilmer and is alot more monotone, he also learns human qualities like the original KITT.
If you love superior acting and convincing drama this is no way The Sopranos or The Wire so don't buy it expecting that, but if your a fan of knight rider, mindless action and something you can watch on the couch on a Sunday with a hangover this is a damn good laugh and i recommend it. For anyone that likes The Transporter, Crank, Death Race, Fast & Furious, Biker Boyz and anything similar this is for you, for you hardcore fans who like gritty drama and emmys then no it's not!
In this day in age we seem to be surrounded by tacky shows full of bad acting and neverending plots like Lost, Heroes, Prison Break and Buffy. This is no different and im sure you will enjoy! It's not the Hoff from the 80's but the new Transformers isn't either. This is Knight Rider with all it's original charm, action, stunts, explosions and one liners it's just had the 2008 treatment!

Never watched any of the orginal knight riders so didn't no what to expect, started watching the new series on sci-fi and was blown away, amazing in everyway, visual effects, action, up to date technology, explosions, hand to hand combat everything you want, if your a fan of the bourne films, fast n furious and all that fast paced stuff then this is for you, i just hope it goes on to make another series, it seems every great show thet comes on sci-fi seems to get axed i say give it a chance! for example; 'jake 2.0' my favourite show, got axed and never made it to dvd wich was a big dissapointment, 'my own worst enemy' another quality show which i heard got axed and now this, all the great ones seem to be discarded strait away, not fair!!.

With technology advancing, KITT too has grown in leaps and bounds. Its not quite up to Transformers standed with the graffix, but then again KITT is not quite a robot either. He is tho 1 of the hottest muscle cars ever to come out of the US. I enjoy the intreg, the controversey and the entertainment of the Knight Industry team. Its a good watch in my book.
