It takes a bit of practice to use but the instructions are very clear. I used a cheap knife to practice on and its now exceptionally sharp. I also have used this on my Global knives and I think they are now sharper than they were new. The sharpness lasts as well so the sharpener only needs to be reused lightly every now and again depending on how often you use the knife.

Being a Chef for many years I had believed that all electric knife sharpeners were a con as no matter how much money I spent they never worked, Until I found this product.This sharpener sharpens my knives to razor sharp first time every time and I cannot believe how cheap and effective it is. Dont waste your money on anything else (like I did) just buy this sharpener and you will be very pleased.
Have had half a dozen knife sharpeners in the past and they all seem to scratch the sides of the blade.
I recently forked out (sorry about that) good money for an I O Shen knife, so with that in mind I found myself looking for a really good knife sharpener recommended by said manufacturer.
When this arrived I thought I'd practice on my cheaper knives first.... WOW!!
Ok they may not hold there sharpness as long as the I O Shen, but WARNING your ordinary knives will have you investing in large amounts of plasters if you're not very careful.
Very little practice will renew all the knives you have, for a very long time.
And the good news is, after a few years you can replace the internal grinders for just a few pounds.
A great investment.
