5.0 out of 5 stars A moving and entertaining murder story 6 Jan 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Kate Allen introduces Marta, a lesbian of Basque origin working as a telephone psychic. Already you will judge that this is an unusual setting for a conventional murder story. Then find Marta deep in a clinical depression and follow her and her cousin Mary-Clare (whose telephone number I would love to get) as they try to get Marta healed and another ill lesbian out of prison. The book explores dysfunctional and damaging relationships in the lesbian and straight world. Kate Allen's eye is very keen and you will recognise many characters and situations which an aching acuteness.

3.0 out of 5 stars I Knew You Would Call 6 Mar 2000
By Beverly - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I met Kate Allen at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. I bought all the books which were available and had her autograph them. I read them by year of copyright. This was the first. I love Kate's writing. Excellent plot construction and character development. This particular one I had problems staying with. It had too many minor subplots going on. I still love a good mystery.
