I was always impressed by John Cazales acting. Pity he died so young as I think he would have been as big as his contemporaries, Pacino, De niro etc. This documentary is respectful, funny, quirky (like Cazale was) and full of love from the director and all of the contributors i.e. actors, directors etc. It was poignant to hear their praise for him as an actor and a decent human being who made them better at their craft. Meryl Streep (who was living with him)was very dignified and spoke eloquently (nothing personal about their time together) about John as an actor - and it was quite obvious from her manner (another reviewer who saw this doc swears that she had been crying)that his death still has an effect on her even though she has been very happily married for years and has grown up kids. He was a brilliant actor and taken from this world too soon. Since buying this DVD I have revisited the films he was in - all oscar nominated or oscar winners - and I think they were winners due to him because of the effect he had on the other actors, he simply made them better.
