The book, like all Klutz I have bought is great, full of ideas and instantly grabs children's attention. However it recommends you download SAM animation which (unless I have missed something) whilst encouraging you to believe you get a special deal for purchasers of the book, gives you a demo version of the software which limits your creations to 5 seconds (50 frames) or nags you to spend $30 on the full version. My children had given up on the project by the time I had battled through the SAM suppliers website. The great sample videos on the Klutz website certainly last longer than 5 seconds, and make no mention of the restrictions.
I gave up on the free demo and purchased a full version of SAM for $30. No restrictions, intuitive and easy to use, no nagging, nice results and a fun day spent with the children filming carniverous fruit and dancing reindeer. Totally recommended (if you buy the full software)

We have lots of Klutz books and this rates as one of the best. Easy to follow guides to making clever animation films. Easy to download free software. Despite us not having a suitable webcam we were able to produce great quality films with a digital camera. Highly recommended and a great alternative pastime for children to endless video games.

!This a very good book and the free animation software looks quite good too, but unless you have a camera which is suitable for streaming video/pictures you can not use it. There is nothing written in the book which tells you that you have to have a specific type of camera (most cameras are flash memory type not streaming!), it doesn't even tell you this on the website, it just says that there is no camera connected.
