    Verified Purchase
After reading many reviews I decided to go against anything JBL and went for this. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the unit and the rich deep sound it produces. The unit charges my ipod and has an auxillary input to I can run the sound from my laptop through the speakers. You will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately I received multiple faulty remote controls and am awaiting yet another new unit and working remote control hence 4 and not 5 stars.

Like everyone else I started looking at the Bose and whilst it produced a nice sound it seemed a bit pricy (I wanted something comparable to the sound from my PC JBL 2.1 Spot's). Having read the reviews on Amazon about the Klipsch original i-groove I then looked at the newer SXT version which was said to have same sound but a smaller footprint. On opening the box the unit was even smaller and better looking than expected. Although it plays the 5th gen Nano there isn't a specific 5G cradle/well, however if you kept the white cradle you got with your Nano just knock out the small grey plug at the back of the cradle and it fits perfectly (albeit black would look better than white). The sound is really impressive and easily fills a room, it is if anything a tad bassy but I would rather have a warm, rich base sound any day than a cheap 'trebly' sounding speaker. The remote didn't function initially but changed out the CR2032 battery and touch wood it has been okay since. Definitely value for money, others to consider would be the original i-groove still a nice looking unit and the only other cheaper unit worth considering is the Sony SRSGU10IP. (Or get two and you'll still have spent less than £200. Would have given 5 stars but for the remote and cradle issues

I thought I'd write a review because I spent quite some time deciding which to get (between the iGroove, and this the SXT) so hopefully this will answer some questions you may have!

To clarify, I have an iPhone 3G(s). I've also attached it to the laptop via 3.5m and it's just as good.

    Overview
I'd been into plenty of retail stores to listen to various units, the only ones I was happy with were Bose (but they come with a *big* price tag). I saw on Amazon the positive reviews for the iGroove so looked more into the Klipsch products.

    My dilemma
Go for the iGroove (cheaper, but (in my opinion), not as aesthetically pleasing!), or the newer SXT. There's currently only a small difference in price between the two (technically, they're almost identical). I went for the SXT.

    The unit
It's smaller than I thought, no bad thing, and feels very sturdy (good build quality). Comes with plenty of dock accessories (connectors to custom fit the correct iPod units). Bass and treble at both low and high volumes are great. I'm impressed at the clarity of audio. The remote is basic, but in-line with other suppliers offerings.

    iPhone 3Gs connectivity

    - Your iPhone will alert you that it's not "designed to work with Apple", however there's no connectivity issues whatsoever (I don't turn airplane mode on - there's no need! - see below).

    - Your iPhone 3Gs *will charge*.

    - The speakers are shielded - there is NO interference from calls / texts. When you receive a call, the unit lowers the volume and pauses the music. Ditto for sms.

That's it from me. If you're hesitant between this and the iGroove, I can't comment on the iGroove, but I can say I'm very happy with this. I was concerned because I'd not heard of Klipsch before, but they can now count me as a new customer (I'm recommending this to friends).

Ordered one of these last week and it arrived on Saturday. The sound from such a small item is nothing short of amazing. Deep base with rich tones and it will easily fill any room without losing quality. I was on the brink of buying a BOSE but i'm glad i didn't as i cant see how anything else the same size as this could be any better.
I paid 99 pounds last week and have noticed its down to 85 now, grab a bagain while you can you wont be disappointed.

I ordered the older version as I have a 2nd gen. ipod nano. No worries using well insert no 4 - there are a number to choose from - the sound is fabulous. It even came with a 13amp plug. Seems like this one might work equally well with old ipods as with the newer versions

If you only do one thing in life apart from wearing sunscreen,it is buy the Klipsch and ignore the Bose. Not only will you save bucks but you will be treated to a far superior sound. Did loads of research on this before buying including trying in vane to find a power output (eventualy found on What HiFi) 200 watts by the way plenty i think. I bought this to replace a slightly ageing separates system and im not disapointed. The remote didnt work but a new battery sorted that, seems to be a common problem. Overall with the rich bass and great mid and highs with no distortion even when seriously loud it more than deserves 5 stars. And no i dont work for Klipsch!
