Product Description

Charlotte has a favourite story about a little girl and her mother who find a lost kitten, stranded by the sea. They named the kitten Moonlight because he was found by the light of the moon. The best thing about the story is that it is true and Charlotte can re-tell it with Moonlight on her lap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Waddell at Moonlight, 17 Jan 2003

A pleasing book and originally written. The story is taken from a conversation between mother and daughter at how they found their pet cat. This gives great scope for humour and gentle adult to child interaction, a fun way of remembering and enjoying an event that both experienced in slightly different ways. It is a feel good book, very different to others on the children's market so far. Thoughtful and incisive, a great hit with all those who've read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A HEARTWARMING STORY OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, 3 Feb 2001

This review is from: A Kitten Called Moonlight (Hardcover)
This is a story of unconditional love - a tiny lost kitten who needs it and a mother and daughter eager to give it.

Charlotte loves to hear her mother tell the story of how they found their kitten, named "Moonlight." As the mother recounts the tale of going to the sea's edge on a blustery winter night, children will relate to the trust they place in their parents.

Moreover, it is the tale of a mother and daughter, the love implicit in their relationship as the mother goes forward when the daughter insists that "There's something down there by the sea. I know that there is."

Luminous moonswept illustrations by Christian Birmingham, a talented young British artist, heighten the impact of this warmly reassuring tale. It's a feel-good story for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars So beautifully illustrated, 27 Dec 2009

It's always difficult to select the correct book for the age group concerned so I rely mainly on reviews. I bought this book for my four year old grand daughter and it's just right. It's a lovely story for a little girl and so beautifully illustrated. I'll be buying more in this series.
