I bought this as a desktop stand for my iPod Classic. It adjusted easily for my model and when it's docked the iPod looks good on the stand (just like the photos in fact!) You will need to use your standard iPod to USB connector to attach to your computer. There is a mini-jack to twin phono cable supplied so you could use this to connect to any hi-fi amplifier. I tried this with my Denon DM38 and it worked fine. (Unfortunately to get the Denon remote to control the iPod you need the Denon dock which is an eye-watering £99!) Anyway, back to this product - it's solidly made and quite heavy so it shouldn't easily topple or get knocked over. This would be a good choice if you have different iPods/iPhones to connect to the same piece of equipment as it's easily adjusted and you don't have to fiddle about with different inserts.

This is a deceptively simple but very well thought-out product.
The simplicity of creating both adjustments for the height of the connector and for the thickness of the device are worked out extremely well, especially if you want to dock your iThing that has a case around it. It simply works where most other docks do not.
I was wondering why the extra bottom section, until I took it apart. It has a weight in it---that makes good sense.
I bought 2 of these.
I wanted to use one of these for my car, attaching it to one of the those suction cup/arm extention type devices. So, I just cut off the bottom section as it is not needed (and cutting the 4 screws shorter so that the upper section could be put back together. Happy kitty now. :-)
The other, unmodified dock sits happily on my desk and works perfect.
Clever kitties whoever designed this dock.
I may add some side panels to make it easier for my iThings to slide into, but not really necessary.
Going to buy a couple more. One of the best docks I have ever used. Give them 6 stars!

Never wrote a review before but this bit of kit is really useful. It has two adjustable sliders for height and depth so I can easily charge my phone when in its case. It also looks smart and in keeping with my black phone. This is not like your average third party junky kit, its good value and I was pleasantly surprised when it came.

Upgrade to my sound system
Thought I was going to have spend a fortune upgradingy daughters sound system however when I found this it was a cheaper alternative. Delivery was very quick. Would recommend.

Cheap but Effective
Does the job without huge expense and allows the unit to be chrged while in use. Can sometimes be a bit tricky to get a good connection between the unit and the dock.
