5.0 out of 5 stars A bolt from the blue. 7 Mar 2008
Format:Audio CD
I stumbled upon this album when doing a search on The Blue Nile ........ and I fell head over heels. This is an absolutely stunning album with touches of the 'Nile' but also Richard Ashcroft of The Verve fame. It is moody and very atmospheric and hasn't been out of my car CD player since new. It's not often an album gets me on first, second or third play; I usually take time to settle into them, but this got me right from the start. If you're thinking about buying, DON'T......just DO IT, you will not regret your choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fine Album 19 July 2007
By Jl Adcock VINE VOICE
Format:Audio CD
Steven who? is probably most people's reaction when hearing Lindsay's name. Which is a shame as he has a cracking voice and puts together brilliant songs. There's a catchy, playability to all the tracks on this album; it's rarely been off the player since I bought it. In all honesty, Kite isn't a great departure from Exit Music - you can instantly tell the style of the songwriting, but that doesn't detract from the sheer musicality of Lindsay. I first discovered Steven Lindsay's music from reading The Word magazine - and have never regretted buying his album on spec. I'd urge anyone to do the same - I doubt you'll be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top music! 24 Aug 2007
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I got into The Big Dish with Swimmer (giving my age away) and thought the excellent Satellites would break them into the Big Time. I saw them live at Newcastle Riverside in 91 (sadly closed), great live too - then that was it - nothing else apart from a compilation - until now!

I've discovered this and the excellent Exit Music recently, and wow - still a great voice and singer/songwriter. I bought both these CDs on a whim and a prayer based on work over 16 years old, and it beats a lot of today's music. A cheeky version of Monkey Gone to Heaven even works.

Highly recommended! Thanks for reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kite 15 Jun 2007
Format:Audio CD
I first heard Steven Lindsay signing with the Big Dish when they supported China Crisis at QMU in Glasgow in the mid eighties, the title track on this new album sounds as good as Prospect Street did back then. I have only played this a couple of times but none of the tracks disappoint and it is the type of album which will grow and work its way into your brain. It won't win him a place in the charts but for fans of a certain age who appreciate a bit of class then this is a worthwhile investment.
