I was about to consign our Kitchen Aid blender to the bin after the rubber coupler got shredded when my wife switched the machine on to blend some soup, with the jug not properly seated on the base. While searching Amazon for a new blender, I came across these replacement rubber couplers. I ordered a pack, they arrived within two days, I fitted one very easily to our old blender using the supplied spanner and hey presto - good as new. The fact that they are sold in pairs suggests that perhaps it is not uncommon for them to be damaged in the same way as ours. In any case, this saved me the expense of a new blender - five stars!

When purchasing a Kitchen Aid blender it isn't the spindle that you expect to give out first, obviously a flaw in the design created through friction between the blending parts. Thankfully there is a place toe obtain replacement spindle parts without too much hassle.

The rubber coupler is designed to break if the blender is under strain. This will often happen if the food being chopped is too hard or being chopped at too higher speed. The part failing prevents the motor from more severe damage. The rubber coupler comes sealed in an original bag with instructions on removing the old coupler. Soon you'll be able to use your blender again. :)
