Epensive, but quality product, 4 Dec 2005
Last week I bought another blender (Dutch brand, Princess), but when I put icecubes in that blender the machine just threw them around... Returned that yesterday, bought this Kitchenaid blender after reading all the reviews here. Considered the Kenwood Smoothie Maker Pro, but that turned out to be too large and quite ugly a machine - plus, though I really liked the idea of the small tap, that makes the jar all the more difficult to clean.Had to buy my Kitchenaid Blender in the shop downtown, couldnt get it through Amazon from the Netherlands unfortunately... (don't know why they do send books but not kitchenware to mainland Europe??). This grey version has a nice finishing touch texture on the lower part of the blender) and am really happy :-). Icecubes, frozen fruit, hard or soft banana: it slushed everything into a pulp. Nothing like large chunks getting stuck somewhere, not at all (really makes me think some of the competition might be filling in these reviews - well, my job is not in this industry at all. This blender makes the drinks airy too: today I realized one of the kiwis in my fruit basket had a cut in it, so I had to eat it today. Peeled it, cut in 4 or 5 parts, threw in the blender, poured in some milk...and I got the most wonderful milkshake, surprisingly rich, soft and simply perfect (and that with just these 2 ingredients). Cleaning is easy as ABC. Don't know what I'd want more from a blender - only have to hope it stays this perfect for the next few years of course.
