This is a beast of a machine, weighs a ton and is really powerful. It's the only machine I've ever owned that can process really hard, woody ingredients like galangal or lemon grass into a perfect paste. The machine is easy to clean and assemble - not as fiddly as I thought it'd be - it also has really good safety features which is important given that some of the blades are like razors and go round at great speed and with great torque! I have had a Kitchenaid liquidiser for years and it never fails me - I'm sure my food processor will do just as well. The machine is also really well finished and stylish, it reminds me of a classic car somehow - beautiful black enamel - and probably has a similar horse-power. This product is definitely worth the extra money because I have burnt out and totally destroyed several similar machines in the past, so I wouldn't even consider buying a light-weight flimsy machine again - that must be true for anyone who likes doing 'proper' cooking.

I purchased this product for my wife ,she loves it! excellent build quality as you would expect from kitchen aid. Fantastic kitchen gadget ,should last a lifetime.

I had a very high opinion of Kitchenaid and this purchase was a HUGE disappointment. Yes, it has a very powerful motor and is a heavy machine, so it doesn't move arount the working bench. BUT, the plastic bowl is of a very poor quality. It started cracking just three months after I bought it, they replaced it under guarantee and has cracked again in several places, eventhough I stoped washing it in the dishwasher (I thought that caused the problem, but obviously not!) The top is so badly designed, that food can be trapped in and is very difficult to remove it. And the latest problem is that I used it to grind hard cheese and the disc base is stuck and cannot remove it. I contacted Kitchenaid U.S.A. and they haven't reply, 6 months now !! Total waist of money. What a shame.
