    I have had mine for about three years now and use it several times a day every day. It has an adjustable fineness dial and when you choose maximum the coffee is very fine - more fine than when you buy ground coffee for cafetiere and looks about the same as for filter coffee makers in appearance. I like my coffee fine so I can get maximum flavour out as quickly as possible as I have coffee that has been left standing too long. I use a cafetiere eo make my coffee. This grinder is easy to use and control, reliable, good looking and produces great ground coffee. It is easy to take apart the grinding section for the cleaning which is good to do about each 6 months to get rid of coffee build up. The grinder has a real solid quality, made of virtually all metal. Because of this it is very heavy so it will not move about the worktop. It comes with a stiff brush to clean with. The glass bowl the coffee is ground into meets cleverly with the machine via a special assembly that moves just enough to easily place and remove the bowl yet assembly meets so snugly with the bowl during grinding there is no risk of the precious coffee going astray. I thoroughly recommend this grinder.

    I bought the Kitchen Aid Artisan Burr Grinder recently, specifically to grind beans for espresso coffee in a Gaggia Classic. Out of the box the unit looks good and sounds good. The glass hopper and catcher avoid static build up and the tight seal on the hopper should keep the beans reasonably fresh throughout the day. If you want to grind for cafetiere or drip, then this machine will be OK - although there are others which are a lot cheaper which will do just as well. If you want to grind for espresso, avoid this product. It will NOT grind fine enough and you will be very disappointed. I sent mine back for that reason and got an Ascaso i-mini. It does the job fantastically.
