I was really glad to find this product on Amazon since I thought that I might be in for buying a new Blender. When my wife told me that the "bit that spins the cutting blade on the Blender seems to have disintegrated" I was confused until I had a look. Right enough, the cogs on the primary plastic turning disk attached to the motor had almost all broken off, and therefore the cutting blade would not turn when the motor was switched on. This product was very easy to fit using the supplied spanner (without it I think that anyone will struggle, since it is made for the purpose). I bought the twin replacement cogs so that I have a spare - my wife makes me home made soup so it does take some "welly".
Product arrived quickly and well-packaged, exactly as described and pictured. The old coupler was removed quickly and simply with the spanner (necessary in my opinion, as it's slender enough to fit in the thin gap). The new one spun on and tightened again with the spanner. The gasket and the other coupler are handy spares held in reserve.
These slightly rubberised (or soft plastic, not sure) blender couplers from KitchenAid are designed to fail before the motor or gearbox is damaged when the cutter blades meet strong resistance. I've no issue with that. We've had the blender for about 3 years and this is the first failure of any kind. It's a great product and I'm pleased I can get the spares quickly without them costing an arm or leg.
I have no hesitation in using KA Parts again for spares.

These parts arrived promptly, and having watched a YouTube video I was confident I could change the blender coupler, using the spanner provided. However, my husband decided he would do it without watching the video. He found it fiddly but managed it ok without using the spanner. He thought the spanner didn't help, and used tools he already had. Job done!
