First of all, the block is very sturdy and well made, and fits the knives very well. The slits are so big in fact that you could fit in any existing knives that you have to replace any in the set that you would prefer to keep elsewhere. With non-slip pads on the base, you are sure not to have any accidents.Secondly, the knife selection is very good, comprising of a bread, multi-purpose, vegetable, paring and carving knife. I would have liked a cook's knife in the block, but that's more personal preference than a flaw of the block itself. The knives are from the 'Lifestyle' range of everyday knives which is very apt as I use them all regularly. They are all very sharp and strong. A very worthwhile buy!

I used to sell Kitchen Devil products in the good old days when we used to manufacture in Britain,they were probably the sharpest knives you could buy, and had to be handled very carefully,this set is sharp but if you put the knife down it often rolls on to the back with the sharp blade pointing up,why they have made the back of the handles flat beggars belief,it only makes a good knife a dangerous knife.
