Does the job it is meant to do and well.
Not too heavy to use (some of the marble ones are quite heavy to lift up) but this Kitchen Craft one isn't. Just because it isn't heavy doesn't mean that it performs any less, it doesn't, it grinds whole black peppercorns with ease.
A nice size and the pestle is a nice shaped one, just fits snuggly into your hand, no sharp bits, as it is nice and smooth. One you wouldn't be ashamed of leaving out in the kitchen when cooking.
I rather like the spout on it, makes pouring any liquid when mixed with spices for a glaze a doddle to use.
Goes into the dishwasher too which is always useful.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Good grip on the pestle, and the mortar is perfect size for cooking for a small family. Good ceramic material, too.

I thought my days of pestle and mortar usage was over since using them in home economics all those years ago! I recently stumbled across a recipe I just had to make and it called for a pestle and mortar. Good ole Amazon helped me in that department and I must say I am impressed with this product. The price is great too. The only reason it hasn't received a full 5 stars is because the it does stain on the inside a little but thats because it has a grainy texture to help grind whatever you need to grind.

Great Value
This is a "proper" mortar and pestle and is just the right size for use in a domestic kitchen. It looks attractive as well. Great value and recommended.
